Can’t reschedule
Tried calling day before to move tee time. They refused to switch.
I said, “you’ve been paid. And you have time to fill the spot. Why not allow me to reschedule?”
They said it was golf now policy. I logged into golf now to reschedule and could not find the reservation.
I paid full price. And played no golf. Unlikely to recommend golf now. Bay view is a decent little course but not sure I plan to return.
The modern world tends not to out customer first. This was evident last week.
Much improved
Very interesting and challenging layout. Being able to shape your shot will do you well here. The greens are much improved from when Bay View GC was known as Summitpointe.
Play was very slow. No marshalls, condition of fairways were not good.
Not a good experience
This course is going down hill. Carts are so sensitive some time stops on fairway
Tee boxes are in poor condition
Some tee box are moved and does not fit the game.
Used to be a fun track
I used to play this course when it was Summitpoint and while it was never spectacular it was a fun course that was always fairly well maintained. What I saw today was sad. You check in and they just say go ahead. 4 groups on the first tee trying to figure out who goes where since there is no starter and no announcements from the pro shop. The course is beat up with some of the greens being decent and others looking like mini golf carpet. Most of the tee boxes were chewed up and one new one was built in the shade and was basically mud. The fairways were patchy with dead spots and weeds. Some areas were dry and dying while others were muddy and soggy. The pace of play was slow and it took a few holes to see the group holding everything up as they had almost 8 groups stacked up behind them. They didn’t have to fear though since there are no Marshall’s to enforce pace of play or any rules. Even the gps is lacking with just general distances instead of to the pin and even the air to clean the mud off your shoes at the end doesn’t work. Sad to say that this course looks beaten and tired.
Watch out for Mosquitoes!!
I'm itchy as heck. 20+ mosquito bites with bug repellent applied from a regular in our group on hole 3.
The course is almost the same as it was before it changed from Summit. I actually like the elevation and tricky lies. But I don't think it justifies its price above a $100. Pace was no problem first times out, but the range doesn't open until like 630.
Greens rolled well, but the mosquito bites are constant... It's clear they did not treat or prevent mosquitoes and it's quite a big health hazard.
Horrible experience
I made an online reservation for 218pm and I got there and they had a tournament starting at 2pm. They should have never booked me so close to a tournament I was waiting 10 minutes at each hole. Then the golf carts turn off and beep to go in reverse randomly all over the fairways with no signs. The staff was rude and not at all helpful. And the course layout has you teeing off right at other holes so you constantly watch out for ball hit toward you.
Terrible Pace of Play
There is no Marshall and we went around 3pm. We waited for people before us at front nine. There is nothing you can do about this. After 9th hole, we noticed the party before us left. Possibly due to cold weather or they only planned to play front 9. People behind drove to our hole to tell us to speed it up that there were three holes ahead of us with no one on it. First of all,... we were with a party that was walking, second, our pace was only picked up after 9th hole. The moral of the story is,... the people behind us were extremely rude but this could have been avoided with a Marshall on site.
Could be so much more
No starter, no marshall, and no organization. All this place needs is a management plan. They are redoing a lot of the areas which is fine but to not have a starter or marshall to ensure pace of play, you don’t have a “Golf Course” you have what it is. The course itself is no worse than any other public course out there. Everyone complains about the same thing and yet nothing is done about it.
Never a flat lie
Very challenging course . Good tee shots can still get unfortunate lies. Elevated and many changes in greens and tee boxes and many small fairways and landing areas. This is not a course for a 20 plus handicapper or higher. You will not enjoy this course. As a 6.5 I find it very challenging even with its short yardage and slopes. Greens roll smooth.
