The Golf Club at Rancho California

The ourselves was beyond wet which made for a wet long muddy round....course was cartpath only...it would have been nice to know prior to arrival conditions were so poor... for the price I would have gone elsewhere. Too wet to play.

The course has seen better days. Management is horrendous. I've had better experiences at the DMV. Rude, unhelpful and arrogant staff. Most packed course I have ever seen. Worst pace of play I've ever seen. 4-some after foursome, up to 4 foursomes on each hole. Head pro had the nerve to say that they were only 4 minutes behind schedule. I guess their pace of place is 6+ hours. After playing 71 courses in the past year, this was the first time I have ever walked off the course. Will not return.

I’ve only played here once before and didn’t get through all 18 but plan on playing over 5 half hours cause it will take this long weather was great and putting fun

almost 5 stars in comparison to other courses in area- Having a Marshall helps a lot, above average layout and greens, closed snack bar on a friday at 5:00

Greens were as fast as I've seen them here. Fast n true

I always enjoy a great RTJ Sr course, this one built around 1971. Lots of recent upgrades. New white sand in many but not all the bunkers - deep and I mean deep but will settle over time. Greens are really nice typical RTJ undulations and trickery. Fairways typical of many muni courses, variety of grasses and many bare or super thin areas. Got there early to hit the range but NO RANGE BALLS and many disappointed golfers. MNGT did not have good reason and did not seam to care.

The range balls were terrible, felt like hitting rocks.

Beautiful setting. Fairways were in ok shape. Sand traps need more rakes available, only 1 rake for each trap, even the huge ones.

Greens were in excellent condition. Course has some challenging holes requiring smart play.

Overall a good value for the money.

So I made a tee time for my birthday and the day came and it was very rainy and windy so I decided to just eat the 8 dollar booking fee and get breakfast instead. Cut to 3 days later and the course charged me $140 for not showing up, I don’t think this is technically legalI. I will be disputing this charge with my bank, very disappointed

I've been playing The Golf Club of Rancho California a couple of times a year the last several years as travels bring me to Temecula. Every visit I see small incremental improvements. From my last round in August 2023 to today, they did a ton of work - mainly all of the greenside bunkers receiving a ton of new, white, fluffy sand that was an absolute bear to get out of. Course was in overall great shape.

The weather was perfect, I was paired with a great partner and the course is improving all the time! This round was on Christmas Day, so I don't think they cut the greens, but they were very good, just the same. The bunkers that haven't been loaded with perfect white sand are being renovated to get a beach upgrade. Luckily, I got to take relief on the one of two I found all day. I'll be back often...

But managed very professionally by the Marshall.. good guy for sure and he represents the course well.

Had an enjoyable day of golf, starting at 12:15 as a foursome; but breaking off into twos due to the other guys wanting to practice or give lessons or something. Pace of play was good for the 1st 10 or 11 holes until we caught up with a foursome, who were at the tail end of the "entourage" and then it slowed a little but still managed to get done by 4:15. Course was a little wet and even muddy in a few places but my partner for the day said that it had rained so it was not the fault of the maintenance crew etc. Will definitely play here again and try to bring some friends too.

The staff is all rude. The Marshall thinks he’s the Lieutenant. The driving range dude is always rude to you.

They want you to pay and to leave immediately. The course is decent and would be my go to but every other course around has staff that actually wants to talk to you so I would rather give other places my money. I though I was jaded but everyone I bring here says the same
