The Golf Club at Rancho California

I've played here a few times over the last 6 months or so and have enjoyed it everytime. The course is in great shape and is very playable. The greens were in near perfect shape free of discoloration or potmarks. They rolled about a 9 or 10 as we started at 7 am with mosture still on the greens. This made it much easier to be agressive without the fear of getting a longer second putt. The fairways and rough were very playable. My only disappointment was the pebbles and rocks in the bunkers but a minor inconvenience to throw them out of the bunkers. The pace of play was 3:45 without pushing from behind or excessive waiting on the group ahead. The starter was very helpful and got me out 30 minutes early even after the pro shop made a big stink about me booking through golfnow and getting a discount:( If you're going to discriminate between full paying customers and smarter ones whom use a golfnow hot deal, then don't offer hot deals. Overall a great birthday round and I will definitely return for another round!

The course was in great condition. Fairways and greens were better then average.

Trent Jones designed course. One of my favorite courses. Conditions were very good, I am sure the rain this winter has helped. Working on sand traps with nice powder sand. Hopefully they will water this summer and get the greens a little faster.

Place is in great shape. Tee boxes, fairways and greens all in perfect condition.

I’ve been playing this course for over 20 years and I have never seen it in better condition. The fairways are legendary, but the greens are even better. This is the greatest value for golf and all of Southern California. Kudos to the greenskeeper and the staff for making this incredible experience.

Not only has the course handled all the extra rain of late, the sand traps are being filled with…SAND!!

Best conditions in the 7 years. Winter rain makes the course lush and staff are staying ahead with maintenance

It's great to see this course finally making some investments to improve course conditions. The new bunkers look and play very nicely. The course is as green and lush as I've seen it in many years, but that's not saying all that much and I fear it's only due to the heavy rainfall this year. Let's hope they are able to maintain something close to these conditions year-round because this course goes through way too many ups and downs on the conditions front. This unpredictability is what drives me and many I know to usually look for times at other local courses first before settling on Rancho and hoping for the best. I just want the place to return to yesteryear when it was the SCGA course and a hot spot to play.

My biggest gripe about Rancho are the driving range balls. They are absolutely TERRIBLE!!! I mean, come on guys! More than half the basket is always filled with balls that have zero dimples, are cut, or otherwise old as can be. At the prices you charge for range balls, the customer should be able to see more than half the balls travel properly through the air rather than nose-diving on perfectly fine strikes. Time for new range balls, fellas! This is another much-needed area of improvement, fellas! You'll recoup your investment in new range balls in no time and it'll go a long way toward restoring your course as one of the go-to spots in the Valley!

Proshop and snack area were pretty basic and food was ok.

The course itself, the layout had both strong and weak holes. The greens were in very good shape. Nice to see the NEW sand being added to all the traps.

The rest of the course needs some help. Overseeing, new sod and some flower beds would be a good start to make this course look more attractive.

Not a bad course to play, a little TLC would make this course even better 😉

The fairways and greens are in great shape. Nice full white sand bunkers also. The pin placements on the front 9 today though seemed to have been left in spots that were meant for a tournament. Everything was on a slope
