The Golf Club at Rancho California

Overall pretty nice course. The conditions were nice not the best but not the worst. I would say 14/18 holes were in great condition the rest could use some love on the fairways. You can tell they are trying to improve the holes.

I’ve been playing the Rancho California Golf Course for 40 years. It’s been through some challenges since the glory days when it was owned by the SCGA. I’m happy to say it seems to be moving in the right direction. Course was in solid condition from tee to green. Bunkers are excellent. Greens are firm, but still receptive and very fast. If you get above the hole you will be hard pressed to keep the ball close unless you hit the back of the cup. Great practice facility even if the range balls are in dire need of an upgrade. Green fees are pretty aggressive but that seems to be the case everywhere. Here’s hoping the course continues to maintain and improve on the current conditions.

It was very windy but great weather 70’s all day. I play here all the time as it’s down the street. If you know the course you can use the wind to your advantage. It’s very difficult to keep leaves and branches off the fairway and greens when it’s 50+ mph gusts. Newer GPS carts are nice. Course is in great shape 80% of the time with poor weather causing the other 20%. Pace is usually pretty good until hole 15 where it stacks up as gambling, drinking and being tired slow pace regularly so be prepared. Staff is great. Tom my regular starter is great. Check this course out 👍🏻

This course is fun and well kept. The staff is friendly! This place has become one of my favorite courses in this area, and there are a lot of golf courses around. The greens are always sold and smooth! Love playing here.

Great pace a little cold and windy but still had a great day

Course is great, but really needs Cart service on the weekends. However, course conditions was great. Staff are great. I would recommend this course

I've always enjoyed playing here and today was better than ever. The greens were smooth and fast if downhill. The fairways were pretty good for the most part for this time of year when the grass typically goes dormant. The rough was only 1-2" high and thus very playable. All of the bunkers are now completed and the white sand really helps frame the holes. The pro shop staff typically is a little spicy especially if you want to do anything out of the norm but today the starter was in the pro shop and made for a great experience. We teed off at 12:45 and we're in danger of not finishing, so we skipped 15 and 16 and finished on 17 and 18. There were slower foursomes holding up the entire course. It would've been nice to have a marshal nudging them along to make for a better experience for all. I snagged a hot deal on golfnow for about $25, so it's tough to complain!

Come back to Golf Club at Rancho California on my trips to the Temecula area and it never disappoints. Conditions consistently good, great value and the greens bunker renovation project is finished - only gripe is the sand depth is inconsistent. For as much play the course gets, it's in great shape. A bit slow on the front as had a 4-some that were spraying it all over the place and seemed out for more of a good time than actual golf,, but jumped them at the turn and the back 9 sailed. Course could use some marshalling as it does attract a wide range of golfers and abilities which can cause some slow ups, especially on the first 3 holes.

Was the busiest I’ve ever seen it. Staff was still great, pace was great, round was a lot of fun.

The course is in fair to good condition. They were doing some maintenance when I was there so they are trying to keep the place up. It’s a fun track with a challenging but fair layout.

The course was in good shape. It played long due to the cold weather if that makes sense but it was overall a good experience. The bunkers were the best I've played in a while unfortunately, i was in a few! LOL!! but I still had a great day to say the least. Greens were receptive but fast, fairways were decent. This is a solid course to play and totally worth the value!
