Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2019. The land will be used for residential development.
Just 7 miles west of downtown Riverside, Paradise Knolls Golf Club tee times will open the door to an 18-hole, par 72, course that plays 6,281 yards from the back tees, and has a slope rating of 117. Designed by Bill Wood, and opened in 1964, the course uses a combination of tree-lined fairways and greenside bunkers to create a fun, and challenging day of golf. The signature hole at Paradise Knolls is the par 3, 12th hole, which plays 230 yards from the tips, and has a green, which slopes front to back, and left to right. There is also one small lake on the course, which sits greenside of the short par 4, 5th hole. The hole plays 275 yards from the back tees, enticing players to try to drive the green, which does have a small opening between the water and a front left bunker.
Many players have made good use of their Riverside golf deals at Paradise Knolls and in addition to the great golf enjoyed their instructional programs, run by PGA Professional staff, the large practice putting green, and their 2,500 sq. ft. clubhouse, which can accommodate up to 150 guests for banquets, tournaments, and weddings. Comments from others following their Riverside tee times paints a nice picture of their experiences at Paradise Knolls Golf Club, finding the course fun and enjoyable.

Wednesday outting
Everything was great on the course, needs help at the snack bar, it take too long to get a drink at the turn during the day.
A Hidden Gem in the Inland Empire
What a difference a little water makes in a course. The fairways are pure, the greens are moderately fast, and the play-ability will challenge even a scratch golfer, but won't scare away a beginner. You won't be disappointed with this track. Better hurry though, the rumor is the course sold and will be closed forever. Perhaps just a rumor, but why take a chance? Go play Paradise Knolls.
PARADISE KNOLLS
Played this course 3 or 4 times in the last 6 weeks or so/ Tee boxes improved/ greens 1/2 the green was aerated and sanded the other 1/2 of the green was fast. Difficult for putting still averaged 2.5 putts per hole (been doing 3 per hole)/ Wide open fairways, roughs were treacherous, lost balls because there was no 1st cut and the growth on the 2nd cut was horrendous/ 4 hr. round played Sunday @ 6:45 a.m. due to it being around 100* later in the day. Still trying to break the elusive 100's have personal golf issues, not related to the course/ Staff has always been friendly
good golfing experience
From when you first walk in the staff is friendly and courteous. For being in a drought this facility has found a way too keep the greens in pretty good shape, and the overall look of the whole area is pleasant to the eye. I was given great advice when i arrived. They told me on the back 9 the greens that were parellel to the river would break towards the hole. I found this very helpful. I'll be back.
Good for the price.
Decent course. It was hot so course was pretty empty. Greens are ok have unfixed divots here and there but if you are looking for a better bang for your buck this is it
Awesome round
Great times, good condition, fast pace, greens were ideal. I golfed with my son we both loved it. Definitely returning soon.
Disrespectful
Ralph at the front desk was so disrespectful to me. I'll never be going back
Needs new staff
Staff was rude and slow. Took 20 minutes to get a couple premade sandwiches and waters when no one else was in the clubhouse. Had a guy from the shop with any sign saying marshal standing in the fairways then telling us we need to move up a hole because a twosome was right behind our foursome but they had no one else behind them and they just got to the tee when we are on the third shot on a par 5. Wouldn't recommend this course until staff changes
Great Beginner Value Course
This is probably my favorite course to play at this point in my game. I am still pretty much a beginner and trying to get better so this course allows me to do so with its decent conditions and very friendly twilight pricing. The greens are always in good condition in my opinion and the fairways never have too many rough patches. The only downside on this course is pace of play, which unfortunately is due to beginners like me playing here so often.
Ugh! That Rough! Fringe is worse!
So I played with a friend who is an eight handicapper. He had the same exact problems I did.
So have you ever played a course when you know you put enough into the ball to get forward roll off the fringe? How about several times in the game? Great chips absolutely DIE on the fringe. It's like chipping into a sponge! Then if you hit the green, you just chipped onto a plate of glass!
If you miss the fairway, the rough is absolutely horrible. I think this is the kind of conditions Pro's and Amateurs play in, with the big exception that the rough is NOT manicured at all! Very difficult to find your ball in the rough after a shot, even if you know where it landed. This rough is so tough that I had to close my clubhead 10* and still toed the ball several times.
WOULD NOT SUGGEST FOR BEGINNERS!
beautful course
This is a beautiful, well maintained course. As a woman, I was surprised they had no red tees for us. The course is over 6,000 yards and pars are very difficult without the advantage of the red tees. Even the senior tees only gave a 10 yard advantage!
Enjoyed my game and the people i played with
Each individual hole was layed out and designed nicely...but the entire layout always placed you in harms way of wayward tee shots.
Good course
Good course but slow pace ! The time was delayed due to too many players, hope they will improve next time.
Good value
Wide fairways made this course very playable. Small greens made this course challenging. I will go back.
Fun little track, With an average golfing experience
Fun
1. Easy to play. With short par fours and wide fairways, this course delivers a good experience.
2. Not too many hazards, so you can feel more freedom off the tee. Fairways and greens are in good conditions.
3. Interesting thugs to see on the course, like an abandoned house on the 17th fairway.
4. Great food
5. Clean facilities
Average experience
1. Pulling up to the parking lot feels like you are visiting your uncle in prison. Everything is fenced in.
2. Parking has disclaimer. It's says we are not paying for your broken windshield.
3. No driving range
4. Slow pace, but that's everywhere.
5. The course is too short, for the money spent.
In conclusion, its a fun short track. If you can look pass the fences and focus on the course it may be worth it. The only problem is that Golfnow make other superior courses much more accessible for the same price. For example you can play Jurupa Hills or General Olds for the same price.
A perfect day!
Staff was very courteous!
The pro shop efficience is in the top 25%!!
surprisingly pleased
I hadn't played the course in awhile and I can't remember why not. I really enjoyed the round, the pace and the conditions, I can't wait to do it again.
Scary
The best part of the day was when a guy hit a shot sideways off the tee, and hit our cart on the adjacent hole. He literally hit it at a 90 degree angle, I still can't figure out the physics of howhe did it. When I looked at him he started yelling at me and threatening me, after he hit his shot sideways!! Not only was it inappropriate for the golf course, it was inappropriate in any life situation. After the guy threatened me, I called the clubhouse who did nothing. The clubhouse attendant told me to call the cops if there was an altercation.
There were groups piled up because not only did these guys spray balls all over the course, they played incredibly slow, like they were the only people left on the planet. 2-1/2 hours for my twosome to play 9 holes.
Overall the course was what you would find at a below average muni. The nicest part was the practice putting green. No starter, so it was a free for all at the first tee. All the holes are extremely close together, and its a course for hackers, so it can dangerous. On the first fairway I was looking directly at two groups playing on the 1st fairway coming at me! Two! They were supposed to be on other holes.
There were a lot of very sketchy people out there the day we played. The course is in a bad area, and their parking lot has a 10 foot fence around it and signs everywhere that say they aren't responsible for anything that gets stolen.
It's tough because there aren't many affordable courses in this area. But if you drive to the desert you can play for a bargain in the off season on world class courses. I played for $5 this weekend, 18 holes and a cart.
5 Hour round
For starters when i got to the course i was told to jump in with the group on the tee box. The pace of play was extremely slow, due to everyine on the course screwing around. Group in front of us would hit 2 and 3 balls per person off of the tee and u never saw a Marshal. I normally play 18 in 2 1/2 hours. Toook me over five hours to play 18 here. I will never play this course again.
