Slope 117
Rating 69.5

Editor's Note: Course closed for business in 2019. The land will be used for residential development.

Just 7 miles west of downtown Riverside, Paradise Knolls Golf Club tee times will open the door to an 18-hole, par 72, course that plays 6,281 yards from the back tees, and has a slope rating of 117. Designed by Bill Wood, and opened in 1964, the course uses a combination of tree-lined fairways and greenside bunkers to create a fun, and challenging day of golf. The signature hole at Paradise Knolls is the par 3, 12th hole, which plays 230 yards from the tips, and has a green, which slopes front to back, and left to right. There is also one small lake on the course, which sits greenside of the short par 4, 5th hole. The hole plays 275 yards from the back tees, enticing players to try to drive the green, which does have a small opening between the water and a front left bunker.

Many players have made good use of their Riverside golf deals at Paradise Knolls and in addition to the great golf enjoyed their instructional programs, run by PGA Professional staff, the large practice putting green, and their 2,500 sq. ft. clubhouse, which can accommodate up to 150 guests for banquets, tournaments, and weddings. Comments from others following their Riverside tee times paints a nice picture of their experiences at Paradise Knolls Golf Club, finding the course fun and enjoyable.

Very fun course

Course was in very good condition and tee boxes were excellent. Fairways are very forgiving. POP was excellent as well. Played on a Thursday morning with a 9:10 tee time. Walked right up and tee'd off and took about 3:30 to 4 to play course only because we stopped at the ninth for a quick drink and bathroom break. Highly recommend course.

Popular Course

This course is probably the most golfer friendly course that I know, however this can be a problem at times such as Sunday 3/8. We had a 7 am tee time and arrived at 6:30 to check in and we could hardly find a parking spot. It was so crowded that it took 20 minutes to check in due to the long line. We got out 45 minutes late. Once we got out it was predictably slow but not extremely so. We finished in 4 hours and 40 min. As I said before , between price , friendliness and course conditions, this course is great and unfortunately everybody knows about it.

rain, rain go away; it did!

I was scheduled at 7:25 a.m., it was raining all night and into the morning. There where nobody wanting to play, but the starter said you can go out,it's up to you. I glad we did. After the 1st hole, the rain stopped, and it started to clear. It was a great day of golf. Nobody in front and noboby pushing from behind. Conditions where really good, parts of the fairway was soft and mushy. But overall the course drained well. Greens are rolling nice. Bunkers where the worst of it, Hard packed .

Never a cart to be found or a green pasture!

Let's start from the beginning. I've never played here, but drove out to play on a Sunday morning. Upon arrival parking lot was very full, and then the adventure begins. No carts for over 40 minutes? Grass, well what grass? Definitely very dry and bare in some spots, the only thing goof about this course is the price and the greens are in good shape. Slow pace of play and the wait forever to get a cart I definitely will not be back again.

Horrible Conditions & Slow Play

I've played this course one other time before and had an okay experience. However, I played the course again today and it was extremely awful. From the very beginning, things started poorly. The course lacks a driving range and the practice green is beat up. The course conditions were awful. The fairways consisted of brown, dead grass and every lie was dreadful. The rough possessed better lies. The starter failed to give ample time between groups and allowed several twosomes on a crowded day. The front nine took 3.5 hours to suffer tthrough. Unbelieveable! I stopped after nine holes, paying $33 for the green fee. I tried to inform the staff about my concerns and was treated poorly by a very rude twentysomethin . Apparently, the land has been sold in order to build new houses and Paradise Knolls will be shutting down soon. Not soon enough for my taste. Horrible experience! Never again!

Paradise Knolls

Played Dec. 14, 2014. Fairways and greens are in great shape. Easy to lose your ball in the tall rough. Booked via GolfNow for $26.50 for 10:52 start. Finshed in 4 hours with no one in front or behind us. Great value and experience.

Black Friday Golf

Had an 8:18 tee time. What beautiful weather. Along with a decent pace of play and course conditions. I visit here frequently. And was not disappointed on what would have been expected to be a long day. Glad our foursome got out early.

Great bang for the buck.

Considering the lack of rain around here this course is in really good condition. Fairways and rough are very good. Greens where on the quick side. Note: With the exception of just a few holes the greens here are TINY.
On number nine I have 111 to the center but there is a blue flag. So I add 10 yards, perfect distance for my gap wedge. Hit it PERFECTLY and I airmailed the green.

Great Value

Course has made alot of improvements to the tee box's and greens. Their starting to look really good. I've also noticed a difference on the fairways as well. For $39 you can't beat it. Also FYI the sausage breakfast burrito is really good. And it cost you less than $5. All in all I feel it's worth every penny and I'll continue playing here.

Early Morning

6:07 tee time. Dark for the 1st 1/2 hour, then dealt w/fog the next hour. Pace of play was slow, but it was due to "no light" & weather. Course conditions were nice. PK is in good shape right now.

Great little hidden gem!

I've played this course since I was in college. It's a decent course for the price you pay. The staff is super friendly and the rate of play was pretty decent. Definitely will continue to play here.

the greens were in top condition

The greens were very nice. They were playing very fast. Fairways were a little dry, but we are in a drought. Pace of play was super fast. A great place to work on approach shots since the greens are onthe small side. Very fun course. Good for beginners.
