Shandin Hills Golf Club

This is a great corse location especially for the money but when we went on 3/31/20 we only played the front 9 and 3 of the last greens didn’t have grass but only had sand. Also they got new holes and the area that holds the flag sticks up too much to the point that it’s easy for your call to pop out even on a perfect putt.

The greens and tees and fringes are in great shape. The fairways and sand traps are not. The fairways are lumpy and clumpy while the sand traps are either wet or hard or both.

Wide open fairways allow for average duffers to keep ball in play. Sand traps are hardened.

Each time I've played SHGC its been good fun and the course is kept in good, if not great condition, even in the rain. The staff has been great, helpful and friendly, from the person in the pro shop to those in the snack bar.

Value is great, par for the course. Pardon the pun.

Golf, free food and drink with the all inclusive... Cant beat it with a stick! Not even a 1-iron!

Took the $11 walking rate after 2 PM. Pretty easy walking course except for hole 6 which is way uphill. Course in decent shape with the fairways starting to green up, although there are still some bare spots. . Bunkers were awful though. So hard packed it was impossible to hit a bunker shot. Greens were really good.

Good price with golf now but too many beginners playing too slow and not fixing divots. No marshals on the course.

Like the layout, greens are very fast.

If you book outside GolfNow you get 2 meals (like a breakfast sandwich and hot dog), small bucket of balls, and I was told unlimited play, but I didn’t check that last part. Overall the course was in pretty good shape if you stayed in the fairways ( the rough wasn’t atrocious either). The greens were decent, folks obviously don’t repair their marks but they still rolled pretty quick with good lines. For the money I definitely will play this course again. The pace of play was the huge detractor, the group in front of us was so slow we jumped them on hole 6 and finished 18 by the time they got to 12. We let the cart girl know, but no change. We watched all the other 4somes stack behind and ruin the pace of play. They legitimately played a 7 hr round and there was no course marshal in sight. You gotta enforce on the weekends especially the before 9am tee times.
