Cramped!
I must preface saying that I had a great round and was paired up with some great playing partners. Greens were in excellent condition and a lot of fun to putt on.
Tee boxes were really bad, not mown and were really uneven. Fairways were a bit better and not horrible but not great either. The biggest complaint is actually out of the owners control without a huge remodel. Each hole is extremely tight (not in a good way) and sits next to two to three fairways of other holes. I guess considering the land they built it on they did ok but to play it isn't fun. People are hitting onto everyones fairways because of how close so your always worried someone is picking up or hitting your ball when you get to it.
In addition, they let 5 some's out which is super frustration with the pace of play. If this was a huge course I would be ok with it, but with 6 par 3's it slows things down tremendously. For the price I paid I didn't regret playing but I wouldn't be stoked to play out here again.
It did have a few scenic holes and a few beautiful views.
San Dimas is always a good value.
This course is always maintain very well, the staff is friendly and the pase of play is excellent add to that the mountain views you can enjoy from the fairways help make San Dimas an excellent choice for your golf outing.
Cousre takes for EVER to play!
I played this course on 11/ 11/14, while the course was really nice the management needs to pay more attention to how many people it puts out on the course per hour! We arrived 30 minutes for our 10:45a tee time and were promptly told they were at least 30 minutes behind. They even ran out of Karts!!!! So we were about 45 minutes late starting. Once out on the course it was really slow going having to wait at every hole, the round took us over 6 hours to play. We spoke to several marshals that were out of the course and they tried to move people along but didn’t succeed very much. The only way we were able to finish before dark was that many groups went home without finishing. Totally unacceptable!
Course was good.
Course was good, just too many groups of 5 out there.
Great value
Played on a Sunday for a great price. Course is always is great condition when I go there. Lot's of upsides to this course.
San dimas
Well maintained, great local course
Super friendly staff... Very few bad spots on the course
Great Value
My wife and I played late morning on a Monday. We played in 3 and a half hours and had a 20 minute lunch at the turn. The course was challenging enough for me (plus 2) but easy enough for my wife (25). Greens were in excellent shape. A very beautiful setting at the base of large hills with a family of dear roaming the course. And the staff was excellent. In particular Randy the pro and Rosie at the snack bar were very helpful, pleasant and accommodating. I would recommend this course to anyone that wants a good round without breaking the bank.
Why would management ok 5somes?
Beautiful course. However, playing behind a five some on a weekend afternoon takes a lot of enjoyment out of the experience. Pace of play was horrible.
Fun Course
This is one of my favorite golf courses. Like to play later in the afternoon as it appears less crowded and makes for a relaxing round of golf. My favorite is the 16th hole, a decent par three directly over a lake with a shooting water fountain. Very reasonable rates with a very friendly staff. Highly recommend this fun course!
Took too long
The course is a fairly good one. It may be due to a Friday afternoon, but we had to stop every hole and wait. It took too long to finish the game -- over 5 hours.
Beautiful course
Beautiful course, however, they allow groups of 5 and it was a 5 1/2 hour round. There was a junior golf class playing, so this made it a long wait as well as the Asians owning the course, hitting up on people and taking forever to play and looking for balls. They need to monitor the players more closely.
Good experience
I had no complaints. I would to return. Great deal w GolfNow.com
Hot course on a very hot day
Jus played San Dimas Canypn on a scorching hot day ( temps about 106). The course overall was in great shape and is well maintained. The fairways are wide and the rough is generally kind. Overall, a great day to play, especially when the clouds rolled in!
Only complaint is they need to have water coolers at every other hole. Poorly functioning water fountains at the club house and two along the course are insufficient even when it is cooler... It's California so it's usually going to be warm.
Bob Anderson
The course layout has some challenging holes and narrow fairways. They allow groups of five on a weekend morning which contributed to a lengthy round. The course is maintained well considering the dry conditions. I would recommend this course with some hesitation.
New features at San Dimas
Had a 6:32 Ttime and started right on time. Starter kept us a twosome. The carts received an upgrade with new GPS system, hence the new $60 weekend rate. Green speed was fast even in the early am and had more than a few 3 puts. Course was in great condition and we enjoyed a visit from a family of deer. Some holes are narrow and parralel so it can get a bit crowded. Overall awesome day.
Half of green is being aerated.
Still a good course and maintained well.. Playable in the right area of the green.. Still a Good value all in all..
Pace of Play
I feel like they booked too many tee times for a Thursday afternoon. We tee'd off @ 11:20AM and had to wait for (2) 5-somes in front of us the whole round. Course was nice but pace of play stunk on this particular day.
Very nice setting a long the foothills
Play was just to slow - 5 somes seem to be an issue.
I think more aggreeive marshalling would help the paces of play !!!
Great course overall!!
I really enjoy playing here!! The fairways and greens are always in great condition. It's a tough but fun course.
people everywhere
The course itself is not bad but the management team never control the flow and just add as many players the can try to make more money (lots 5sons). First 9 hole take more than 3 hours and many shouting and even fight between players because of the frustrating. Low quality golfing experience and will never play here again.
