Decent Course
Decent value for the $$. Usually plays slow, so I was surprised when we finished in about 4.5hrs. Fairways need work but get better as you get closer to the hole. Greens were in pretty good shape and rolled true for the most part.
The course was fun for the "average golfer"
This is a fun course for family and friends. We have played it about 4 times and always put it on our "return courses". The pro shop is well stocked for not being very big. The personnel are nice and the maintence crew are all over the course taking care of fairways and greens.
my wife & i play here often--have for years.
this course plays a lot like a links course-- open and rolling. and sometimes windy. a satisfying course, not easy but not too difficult either. par is a good reward.
Challenging course, usually windy
Very nice course, tough greens, wide open fairways
chill course to play
should fix the price for non santa clara residents!!
Good Course for the Golf Now Price
Course is in good shape, pace of play was good. There were a few 5 somes running around though. Only saw the cart lady 3 times and all of them were on the front nine. Front desk is friendly and the bar staff is friendly. I like their driving range, very close to the 1st Tee and lots of room.
Had a good time and the course interesting.
Staff were very friendly. Carts were spotless.
Fairways had a several dry spots, some greens were sandy but most in good condition. Parking a problem with the new 49ers stadium construction.
This course is LOUD!
Overall, it was a great value. The course layout is a little more difficult than moderate; most every hole seemed as if was a dog leg lef/right. All in all, a good course to play on for the price. The huge downside of this course is the sound level. The construction of the 49ers stadium, airplanes flying right overhead every 5-10 minutes, the freeway and probably the most annoying piece was the lawnmower being driven in front of us for the first 4 holes (at 11am one would think the grass would've been already cared for).
The greens are in process of being plugged and sanded. Should be perfect in about 3 weeks
The challange of this course is playing in the afternoon, when it is windy. A true test of keeping the ball down into the wind and trying to hit the ball high with the wind. Could use a marshall in the afternoon to keep those slow foursomes going, but a four hour round isn't bad.
great course for beginners to intermediate players.
Love this course for the wide fairways and excellent greens. Pace of play is great. players ahead of us had no problems locating golf balls and making the day great. Would love to come back to this course again anytime of the week or month.
Fun course
Good course. well maintained. bunkers could use some more sand...too easy to get out of fairway bunkers as they were hard.
Ups and downs
The course's fairways need some help. Way too many brown spots. The greens were in much better shape than they have been over the last couple years. They rolled OK, but they are starting to get a little too firm. Lastly, the greenskeeper needs to be careful with where he puts the hole on the 12th green. Too many unfair spots.
Very good for a Muni...
This is my home course and I play it regularly. The course is relatively flat but it's not too boring or repetitive. Most greens are receptive and amenable to different approach shots. Par 3 are generally medium long, most par 4s have dog legs, and par 5s generally short. Several holes tend to have significant wind. On the negative, they could use more on-course marshals since many golfers cut in and no enforcement against slow play. Overall, a fun course to play.
The course has no control on slow players. You can never go out at your actual tee time.
There was a 35 minutes delay for my tee time. No marshall showed up to handle slow players . We ended up playing only 11 holes before dark.
Great location!
Green was little slow, but it was enjoyable!
One more thing, it took me 6 hours to play 18 holes.
Slow player has to be warned!
Poor course conditions
Aside from the Planes, Trains and Automobiles making the course "Urban Noise Blight" the course itself is in dissrepair. The greens are 1/2 OK, as aeration took place over the last month or so, they aerate 1/2 the greens at a time and the 2nd half has not recovered. Way to many times you have to put from the "good side" to the bad side making it nearly impossible to get a true putt.
In addition the fairways are not in great shape, they are dry in way to many places, dead in others and just plain crummy if you want to take a divot after hitting the ball. In general the course needs tender loving care and is not getting it.
The golf course pro-shop tried to NOT honor the green fee from golfnow as they claimed the fee did not include the cart fee, after 5 minutes of argument, and attempting to bring up golfnow on their incredibly slow computer, they finally let us play for the proper discounted fee (and it was a twilight time)
nice course
we enjoyed the course, good layout. better then a muni course. i usually score well there. Good course to play but it is always a slow pace of play.
Good Shape
Course is in best condition since it opened! It's a good value for the money!
Course was great.
Beautifully maintained, course, great staff. Played way to slow. Think maybe the Marshalls could have pushed a few groups a little more. All in all agreat day for any golfer.
