Upland Hills Country Club

UHCC is a local course to rancho/upland area. Its name may sound private but it is open to everyone. The entire staff had been really friendly and I really like playing the course.

Decent course, very slow play. The course is not worth what they are charging.

Had sum beginner golfers in front of us. They had 2 bags for 4 golfers. Drove up on #10 tee box lost the bag off the back and park rt next to the white tee markers. We had to pass them on the 11th and never saw them again. Rest of day was good. Cart stopped on us but they came out quik to get us a new one. Will be back.

had a good time on the course but the next day i get a email saying i didn’t make my tee time and now i will be charged the full amount. and golf now has no way of contacting them. terrible experience

Upland Hills is my home course, and overall it’s a solid place to play.

Pros:

Clean and well-kept with beautiful scenery.

Usually plays at a good pace without too much waiting.

Course maintenance and upkeep are excellent.

I’ve heard great things about the 1906 restaurant (though I haven’t tried it yet).

Cons:

The fairways are narrow and tight, with homes close to the course.

The rough is thick, making it easy to lose balls.

Overall, it’s a challenging but enjoyable course, especially if you like a well-maintained track that will test your accuracy.

The fairway grass and greens were acceptable, but everything just outside the fairway (rough) the grass was way to high (long) like it has not been cut in a long time, that was unacceptable, very dissapointed with that.

Tee'd off at 6:37 am. After 4 holes, we were on track for a 6 + hour round. I skipped the 4-some causing the problem and there was a 3 whole gap to the 4-some in front of them. As is typical for this course - there was no Marshall on the course. They have GPS on all the carts, so the Starter can plainly see the speed of play.

The grass is so long outside of the fairway. Unless you are capable of hitting shots in the middle of the fairway, you will be hunting for your ball on most holes. Can you mow the grass please. The PGA doesn’t have fringe this long. This course can go from a one to a eight just by cutting the grass.

Fun course. Good chances to score… if you can keep the ball in the middle. The rough can eat up your ball. Really thick. Fairways are in great shape yet are narrow and the greens run true. Nice job!

I’d really like to share my experience, though unfortunately, it was a complete disaster. The staff at check-in were noticeably unfriendly with the exception of the starter who was very nice. The rough was wildly overgrown, so much so that if you missed the fairway, your ball was essentially lost. For a municipal public course, the lack of care for course conditions was glaring and completely disappointing. But the most annoying part? A family group ahead of us playing in a 30 person outing with no golf experience, was treating the round like a backyard party. They took 25–30 minutes per hole, drinking, chatting, and showing 0 regard for pace of play or the golfers behind them. We ended up waiting 37 minutes at the 10th hole before deciding to walk off after just 9 holes and giving the course our money for free. Finishing the back nine would’ve easily taken another 3 to 3.5 hrs. I’ve never seen pace of play managed this poorly, and I definitely won’t ever be returning.
