About
Situated along the Ventura Harbor overlooking the Santa Clara River, Olivas Links (formerly known as Olivas Park Golf Course) enjoys coastal breezes that make it cool in the summer and warm in the winter, providing perfect conditions for golf year-round. The golf course has a links-style layout that closely follows the natural swales and curves of the landscape and separated by bands of fescue and wild grasses. The course is mostly open but there are some large pine trees scattered throughout. Its seaside location subjects the golf course to strong winds, especially on the front nine. The challenging layout offers multi-tiered greens and contoured mounding along the fairways. There are also deep bunkers strategically placed throughout Olivas Links, but the openness of the course places a stronger emphasis on hitting the right spot on the fairway or getting the correct angle of approach to the green rather than avoiding the bunkers.

Dissappinted
Course was not as good as I had expected it to be.
Fairways and greens need help. Pace of play is horrible with no Marshall’s to help with the pace of play.

I was pleasantly surprised to get a decent tee time 3days out from playing. (12:40).. Course played challenging do to afternoon wind Greens were nice bunkers nice too. Great coastal course to play. Don't go if you want great food & beverage. Pro shop is a Trailer. This place is for legit golfers..

No Better Course for the Value
In the spectacular value golf that Ventura County has to offer, Olivas is no different. Spectacular links-style design, challenging conditions that vary with the wind, long but not too long, and always in solid condition, there are few courses in California that offer the opportunity for a very pleasant round than Olivas. I'm very grateful and fortunate that this is my home course.
No clubhouse, which if that means the price is lower because of it, I'm all for it.
Outstanding Golf Experience at a Gem of a Public Course
It's not every day you get to play a public course with such exceptional greens and overall outstanding conditions, especially during the cooler months when grasses typically go dormant. Olivas Links truly stands out!
The pace of play was remarkable—a 4-hour round, even with a bit of waiting on a handful of tee boxes on the back nine. That’s almost unheard of for such a high-quality course.
The staff inside the pro shop were both professional and personable, making us feel welcome from the start. A special shoutout to the gentleman running the beverage cart, who went above and beyond. In my 40 years of golfing, he’s the first to proactively ask where we were playing our next shots to ensure the pace of play stayed smooth for us and the group behind. That attention to detail made the experience exceptional.
The course layout is a gem. The green complexes are approachable for most golfers while still providing a good challenge for those aiming to score. It’s the perfect balance of fun and strategy.
Adding to the day’s charm, a third golfer joined our group—a fantastic person who made the round even more enjoyable.
By the end, my golf partner and I unanimously agreed: Olivas Links is now at the top of our list for future outings. Highly recommended for golfers of all levels looking for a memorable experience!
