Superb golf
this is one of the best courses in Ontario or anywhere, for that matter. Beautifully designed, you will hit every club in your bag. The condition this year is perfect. The greens are amazing. We played early morning, first out, so we had the course to ourselves and got around in three hours. Play this course!
course experience
This was my first time playing the conditons of the course was excellent. I will recommend this course, who looking to play in that region.Staff were extremely fiendly and accomodating. I can wait to plaing it agian soon.
Best Public access course in south western ontario
I drive 1.5 hours to play this course. Its just worth the time to go and play this really well designed, manicured course. Have a lot of high end courses much closer to home but they don't match up to G.N. if you ask me?
Many thanks for the great review. A 1.5 hour for good golf- we like your style!
We hope to see you again in 2015! bc
As good or better than any ClubLink course
Pros:
- very well manicured. Well above Niagara average.
- greens are quick
- greenside bunkers were perfect
- well spaced, large tee blocks
Cons:
- Ballmarks on greens aren't repaired correctly
- there are so many good asphalt paths that the few stretches of gravel stand out
- long distances between holes would make walking a real commitment (pack light)
Overall, a great pleasure starting with a terrific opening hole.
great experience!
Second group off pace of play was exceptional. Coarse was incredibly well maintained with friendly staff and courteous grounds crew. Great value for a facility like this, will return ASAP!
Grand Niagara
Great course, was wet because it rained but drained very well. greens were still fast. Why is it that most Pro's make it feel that you are bothering them when you come to play??? Thought they would all smile and be happy. Guy's with the carts were very happy.
World Class Presentation is Grand Niagara
We teed off first at 7:45 am after hitting a few balls. The first thing I felt was that we were on a golf vacation. This is a first class set up. The cart staff were friendly and informative to start our experience. Once we got onto the track we enjoyed PGA Tour conditions. This course is impeccably manicured. The layout provides for resort styled wide open fairways with visual landing areas and then well protected undulating greens. Neither of us played very well, however, our enjoyment of this course is testament to Grand Niagara's world class presentation.
Great course/staff
Best course I have played in Niagara.
Extremely Friendly staff. Range balls, water bottle and yardage book were included.
Excellent course conditions with fast true greens.. Challenging, but not too difficult a layout. Playable for every skill level.
If they grew the rough, it would be a very tough course.
Great Condition considering...
After a week of hard rain, this course was well drained and the greens were beautiful. The only downfall was the bunkers, as they are an important part of this course, all the rain had them in tough shape. All in all it was a 5 Star Course in 5 Star condition. Well worth the value and will play it again!
Good day
Course was in great condition and staff were great! Coffee not so good
I Love This Course
This course was amazing. I teed off at 12:30pm on my own as it was very quiet and I played 2 balls and I had a ball. The course is in exceptional condition, the staff was super friendly and the design was awesome. The range is excellent and even the on course cart lady was an ex Canada Rugby player. If I am in this area again I will definitely play here! It helps that the course suits my style but still a great course. The only thing I wish they had is GPS for the carts but that is likely because I forgot my watch :) Had to go old school! They do have the sprinkler heads well marked and they do give a pin sheet
Happy to hear you enjoyed the day with us. The course is only getting better- especially after Sunday's BIG rains.GPS will be discussed with Ownership on your behalf. Next time- feel free to ask for a complementary yardage guide. We look forward in your return visit to GN! bc
A Grand Day at Grand Niagara!
Great experience from the moment of arrival. Friendly staff and very informative. Course is in fantastic condition and is very well maintained. I would not classify myself as a good golfer, normally shooting around 100, so I did find the course a challenge! My partner was a far better golfer than me and wanted/needed to play the Gold tees. I started there and then moved up to the Silver tees which was more than enough for me as well. We did pay more than I would usually pay but the overall experience was worth it!
You will never regret
I always wondered why this course was rated and priced pretty high compared to the other courses in the Niagara area, and I've ended up nodding. The course was immaculate except a few spots. The fairways were literally fair, the greens were real, and the overall lay-out was almost perfect. The only con may be that the front 9 were a bit boring. I'll be out there again very soon, I guess.
Very well maintained
The yellow stakes on the 14th fairway just short of the green are not to visible. My tee shot was not good & I was playing a layup & hit the shot just how I wanted until I walked up to my landing area which happened to be in a yellow hazard.
Great condition for early spring golf
Had a good day at Grand Niagara a little cool but still enjoy this course. Fairly forgiving off the tee but that changes coming into the greens lots or bunkers and level changes on the greens . I'll have work on my bunker play before I go back
Finally- Spring has arrived! Thank you for the post. Warm temps with a little rain this week will continue to get Grand Niagara ready for our PRIME SEASON. We hope to see you back this year. bc
At least try once?
I was excited to play Grand Niagara for the first time after much anticipation, however, I do have mixed feelings for the course.
The greens are definitely within a handful of great greens in Niagara and overall the course is well manicured.
Tee to green this isn't the most stressful course in the area other than being long and par is a great score on any of the holes.
I can't really justify the high price tag and hype considering there are at least a handful of courses that I have played comparable in challenge, enjoyment and scenic at a fraction of the price with it's own character.
I felt this course lacked character. No theme or hole speaks out to me.
If you are looking for value this isn't the course but it was nice to play a high profile course at least once.
good condition
The course is well maintained. The features are great.
Great Course in Great Condition... Will play again!
I read the reviews and golfed with a business contact that had played the course before. This course is a gem. Good value for the excellent challenge ahead for any golfer of any level. I cannot believe how great the condition of the course was for this time of year.
The staff greeted us and got our cart ready. We took advantage of the driving range and putting green to warm up prior to the round. There was no rush whatsoever throughout our entire experience.
The wind does play a factor but not enough to ruin the round (especially for those low trajectory shooters).
Would definitely take the hour drive again to play a round of great golf!!!
Most satural and beautiful course in Niagara
horrible day of cold weather and drizzle and wind. Bitterly cold but enjoyed the course immensely. We played best ball from the black tees where the course is even more interesting. Simply wonderful course.
A similar day to open our 2015 Season. Opening Day- April 22 We wintered extremely well- hoping Mother Nature will be kind to us this year. bc
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
Many thanks for the kind words. Very proud to make SCORE GOLF's Top 59 public courses in the country- #35 (#12 in Ontario)
We hope to see you BACK in 2015! bc
