Would recommend.
This is my second time playing this course, and it is extremely fun to play. A lot of water is in play on most holes, however there are also some holes where the fairway is hard to miss. Fairways were in great shape and so was the rough. The greens were in much better shape then when I played this course a month ago. 25 bucks for 18 and a cart at this place is about the best deal you can get in Virginia Beach.
Battlefield
The greens had a tremendous amount of sand on them. I realize this must be done to keep the greens, but way too much! This course has be open for 15 years? And they still work out of a trailer and bathrooms are port a John’s in the the back!
It’s a wide open course and challenging but the condition of the greens was so poor it’s hard to get a feel for how they roll under normal conditions. Until then it’s hard to recommend this course. Although we did get a tremendous amount of rain last night so maybe it washed the sand off..

Great course, friendly staff, good pace of play, great range and practice area. Great value for the area. Greens were a little inconsistent due to some heat stress.
Make shift hole
One hole hand sand and make shelf hole... three times bigger than normal
Went to check in ... was told I couldn’t play a tournament was going on
The course never informed me about a tournament... drove 51 miles for nothing
Bail Out
Interesting course, at least 1/2 the holes have a bail out area, eg: right of the green is water and left is an open area. Few trees and windy, made for a fun-fun round. Greens still have some sand on them from aeration, this isn't typical, normally greens are fast and fun. Staff was extremely friendly, would turn off work equipment when we were on greens or teeing off- really nice touch. This course isn't easy for me to drive to, only play here once or twice/year, may have to play there more, really had a good time.
Dry hard and open
The course was dry due to the lack of rain in this area. Being open and more like a links course it’s a good test for every level player. The dry conditions allowed the ball to release and rule out, the greens were real fast and enjoyable.
