course is great for beginners
easy to play and very forgiving for the beginner to intermediate player. this time of year there are a lot of tight lies because of weather conditions, but still good for learning and improving your play!
The course had construction
Overall a good course. I did not know they are working on the course so it made a few hole difficult hitting around obstructions.
Pleasant Surprise
The front fairways and greens were in better shape than the back, but still playable. Windy conditions ensured the course played tougher on shorter holes. Greens were a little hairy, but still rolled nicely. Great course for the money. I'll be bringing the fellas out here again.
Nice course
I've played this course several times nice course friendly staff a great place to play
Great value!
This course is a great value. If you want a course where you can just unload a long drive this is the one. Still a work in progress but you get more bang for the buck here than at most local courses. I'll be back.
greens like concrete
some of the hardest greens I have ever seen. ball bounced over 10 feet in the air when green was hit, on several holes.
Challenging Link Course
The overall playability of the course is good the course is challenging....some difficult water holes. Condition of the course during my day of play was very poor. Tee boxes were overgrown with patches of grass and weeds, the fairways were in terrible condition, poor drainage, lots' of swampy areas and mud. The greens were in good shape however.
Very good
Greens were in excellent condition. Pace of play slowed up because their were teenagers and fathers showing children how to play. But all in all this course has really improved through the years and I really enjoy playing there.
Good course
Good course...no real pro shop and no snack bar...this means no hot dog at the turn...no beer...Fun course though...not overly difficult and not overly simple...had a good time
COURSE IS GETTING BETTER
Course is in the best shape ever. Better than some of the high dollar courses in the area.
The greens and most fairways are in pretty good shape
Course was in pretty good condition except for the 17th fairway was real soggy and marshy due to poor drainage and the fact that it rained the day before. Also the club house at this time is only a trailer so hopefully they'll build their club house soon. As it stands now you can only drink soda at the 19th hole. I don't know if that will change if the club house is ever built. The only other negative is the parking lot is dirt and so are about half the cart paths.
Best deal around!
A challenging layout. Course conditions are improving every time I play. When the course opened the fairways and greens were hard and you could count on the "Battlefield bounce" to carry your ball in all sorts of directions. Now the fairways and greens are much better. If you haven't played in a while come back and see for yourself.
Good value
This course was in decent shape. We played right after big storm so it was cart path only. Even with all the rain it was in good enough shape to be fun and challenging. Most holes are not very long so play is fairly quick. I really liked that it is very scenic and does not have any houses on it. You really feel your away from it all. Finally, the price is great! It is well worth the cost.
Needs Improvements
Tee times were very close together. As we waiting for others to putt there were others teeing off. Also the groundsmen never bothered to stop mowing while we were playing. Club house is a trailer and bathrooms are port-a-potties. Links style course and felt as if the lay out was poorly designed. several times we had to ride up the hole to find out which way the tee was because you could not see them from the tee box. Not worth it. Could play nicer courses for the money. Will not be back.
Good Time
Good course and great for the money. Fast pace and staff was very good. I would recommand playing.
Enjoyable
Nice course, wide open, no trees and some water. Fairways and greens well kept. Minimum facilities, still in a trailer. If really hot not sure I'd play it. Worth the $20 rate I paid.
Nice course
Great day for golfing. Challenging course. But, certainly not HARD.
Battlefield GC
Very mediocre public course. Poor grass condition on fairways. Worse greens I've played on in years. Greens heavily checker-boarded so no true running putts. Received good GolfNow price, but not likely I will return. Too many other public courses around the VB/Chesapeake area that are better taken care of.
This course is good and on track to be great
The pace was excellent. The course conditions would have been excellent except for the recent aeration of the greens(an occasional necessary evil).
They apparently are preparing to build a real club house. The current lack of a club houses is the only big negative of this course. The actual golfing is great. I would like them to plant a few more trees, shade is hard to come by on this course.
