good for golf training
Good place for short game and golf training/improvement
Great for Kids
Great round with my 6 year old son. Course was great for the price.
Good for Short Game, That’s About It
I’ve been playing Lake Ridge for over a decade, and there’s a good reason I choose to keep coming back. It’s very cheap to get a tee time, about $9, and that’s about all that it’s worth.
There is almost never a single person on the course, meaning you can take your time playing, or even fly through your round if you wanted to. It’s certainly not an extravagant country club, but it serves it’s purpose as a great place to work on your irons. I personally don’t use any club with a lower loft than a 7i, and most holes can even be played with a Pw, some with a 60°.
The range is a 10-yard deep net, so it’s not very good for seeing ball trajectory, but it’s nice to get warmed up nonetheless. The putting green is actually surprisingly large and has some nice contour to it.
Recently, the course is actually in fairly decent shape. The tee boxes were marginally acceptable, the fairways and greens were well-kept, but the bunkers could use some real work, since not a single one of them was anywhere near playable.
Overall, it’s $9 for a reason, and if anyone wants to complain about this not being a fun little course, I would be the first to argue with them. This course is the sole reason my short game is as good as it is today. It’s literally $1 per hole if you book a Hot Tee Time, so I would definitely recommend at least trying it out if you’re considering it.
Golf Now Stinks
I made my reservation on the GolfNow app and received confirmation while being charged their fee. When I got to the course they said they didn’t have my reservation and that they have had issues with the app. I had to wait another half hour to go off when they finally had an opening.. GolfNow needs to refund me my money for the reservation it did not complete.
Great for beginners
This course was very short and not kept up well. This was an ideal place for me and my cousin to take extra swings, work on our short game without having to pay an arm and a leg. We also didn’t have to worry about somebody rushing us while we played. I enjoyed it but would not recommend if you are looking for a beautiful challenging course.
Fairly priced 9 hole short course
This is a good course to work on short approach shots, and landing on greens from the tee box. Leave your drivers and irons at home though, you wont need anything other than a sand wedge and a putter.
Very short course but great value
The course is small and even for a par 3 course it's short but overall a very well kept up with course that's great for the money. Because of it's length it's great for families and beginners but the more advanced players will find it too easy.
Great executive course
The Lake Ridge Golf course is an executive 9 hole par 3 course. I played the course twice over to get the 18 holes.
Even though you will not need your driver, the course will still test your skills. The hills and valleys give one a good walking exercise.
Thank you so much for your review! We are happy to see you enjoyed our course. We value your feedback, and hope to see you back in the future.
