Pace of Play on Front Nine
The pace of play on the first nine (9) holes was slow. The guy (alone) ahead of me was playing three (3) balls. No wonder it was a slow pace. Thankfully, he did play the back nine. (at least ahead of me) Otherwise, all was good and it was a beautiful day to be outside.
Great Course
This is a really fun course to play and can be super challenging at times. The facilities are excellent and have everything you need. It was still early for the grass to be all green in the fairways but that will change in a few days. The greens were being prepped for the season, so they had sand and had just been aerated. Can’t wait to come back and and put an 85 up on this course.
Great round of golf!
Course has completely dried out after all the rain of the past couple months. Fairways give you plenty of rollout on well hit drives. Hit some bombs today! Greens are firm and fast. Bunkers filled well and very playable. Excellent condition for this time of year! Love this course I play here often
Cold & Wet at CC
Best course in the area. Winter and rain have taken a bit of luster off the course; however, it remains in good shape and is a pleasure to play
Value and fun
The course is a great challenge. It has a very interesting layout and plays well for experienced and novice players.
A couple of the greens need some attention, but the vast majority are in very good shape.
This is a fun course to play and an excellent value.
I recommend it.
Slow & Wet
Don’t know why you have to go into the clubhouse to check in when using golfnow. Should be able to check in by phone & pay everything on line even if not golfnow. People still aren’t taking Covid seriously! And they charge $10 if you don’t want to share a cart. Some holes are so wet that you have to move your ball 50 yards to play it. The carts keep stopping even though you’re still on the cart path. And there are a lot of old people playing foursomes which is never a good combination. The bunkers are unplayable from all the rain. The course has a lot of bridges which are beautiful & beautiful wooded landscape. The top layer of the soil is sand so at least it’s not terribly muddy when it’s wet. The holes are very challenging but fair. The greens are beautiful bent grass.
Nice layout but looks like they are short money to keep it up. Bunkers have not been cared for in months, many are just mud. Couple of greens are awful, some are just bad. Only play for Hot Deal price.
cart path only
Had a good time. IT was cart path only though. cart paths are sometimes not close to fairly wide fairways. You could end up walking 10000 steps easily if you hit some shots away from the paths. Some holes needed cart path only, but not the whole course.
Excellent value.
Great Course
The course has bent grass greens. With the exception of two that were slightly stressed from the summer heat, the other 16 were in great shape--as were all the fairways.
Challenging, yet fun to play. Lots of variety in their holes (e.g., normal left and right doglegs, some water holes, and fairways with uphill, side hill, down hill slopes).
CC
Greens a bit slow but roll true and are consistent speed. Bunkers in good shape and tee boxes and fairways are superb. Very good course that requires use of all your clubs. Flat, hilly, marshy, wide open fairways and some which require a bit of thought before pulling out a driver. I could play here daily and still find the course enjoyable
Very good golf experience for all levels of play.
Excellent layout, staff and facilities. Challenging as well as rewarding, with a great view of the natural surroundings. IMO, well worth the time.
Course in bad shape and not a good round
Greens were in awful condition as were the bunkers. Most of the bunkers were either full of water or mud and were rutted out badly. Greens were spotty with no grass at all. There was a machine that I had to follow the first half of the front nine and wait until they were done doing whatever they were doing to the greens. On the second half of the front nine the guy on the machine was behind me running this machine and waiting for me to tee off on each hole because I got behind another twosome I had to wait on. Point being said is I had to follow or be followed by this darn machine the whole front nine, No fun.
The greens
I expect the summer heat would explain why the greens were in "less than great" condition. I worked at a local golf course for four years so I know the course superintendent has a tough job.
Too bad
I’d come back as soon as the greens come back. Shaggy at best, it looks as though they suffered heat damage and are being protected. Fairways also not in best shape. Good layout however. Want to give it another try.
