Sevierville Golf Club - River Course

This would be a wonderful course if ran properly. First, they did not group people to speed up play.There were four twosomes and a single within our sight. There was also a women's outing filled with ladies that did not know how to play and keep pace. Our round lasted 5 hrs and 45 min. Not an enjoyable round of golf!

STAFF WAS GREAT AND COURSE A GOOD BUY. A GREAT VARIETY OF HOLES. GREENS WERE VERY GOOD.

Beautiful location and great course! Course is challenging with lots of water but is still fun to play.

I play here often and love the River Course. We played 18 Saturday. The only problem was when we asked to play another nine they wanted 29.99 each to play. That really left a sour taste with all four of us. We declined. Most area courses charge a cart fee up to 15.00 if you have already paid for a full round. that bothered me enough that I may not come back. We have played at least 30 rounds there as a weekly foursome.Received no consideration for that.

I'm a 12 handicap golfer and today I played the course from the blues, needless to say it forced me to play the course! The fairways were in absolute pristine condition for this early in the season and are starting to green up really nice. The "greens" have never rolled any truer....putter beware they roll like glass! All in all this course is set up for the weekend warrior as well as the low handicapper when it comes to shot selection and ball placement, I will definitely be back. The staff is more than accomodating and they care about their patrons. Job well done!

this place was overbooked i was put in a four some with no one i knew and none of us knew the course. the starter boxes and course in general were poorly marked.we never did find some of the tee boxes that i wanted to use. the grass wasn't cut next to several of the tees and the cart paths didn't extend all the way to a few. several of the tee boxes were so hard and rocky that it was tough to get the tee in the ground far enough to stay upright. the fairways were hard to see and several times there was confusion about where the green was because no maps or diagrams were provided to give any clue as to where the heck we were going.on two or three holes more than 1 flag was visible and we took a guess about which one we should go for. we felt rushed from behind so when we didn't know what was over the next rise several times a ball drowned or was lost in some other hazard that we had no idea existed. by the time we got to #15 we didn't care what happened,all that was desired was to get to the end .very overpriced and no fun

Course was in good condition. The only complaint I have was the speed of the greens were extremely fast. None of the shots on the green were able to hold. I had to start bumping and running just to get the ball on the greens.

Wow very nice course . However we had alot of rain the night before we played . The course was in awesome shape , was just real wet from Rain the night before . We still had a great time and will be back to play again . This time we will try the Highland course .

Seemed like it would have been a good course, however it was a muddy mess.

Enjoyed our round. Pace of play was excellent. Staf was courteous. Course was in good condition. We will go back.

Course was totally soaked casual water throughout fairways and tee boxes. We knew it was wet, so not really a problem as long as it did not get worse. Then a downpour of rain came as we made the turn. We went on in to the clubhouse to get a raincheck and they would not grant it to us because we booked thru GolfNow. I was told "they could not" grant a raincheck (who was stopping them?). My club flew out of my hands on three shots and was so slipping, I could not play anymore. I was afraid of my club flying into the water on many shots. The course became unplayable when the rains came and NOBODY was on the course except us... Not acceptable that they could not grant us a raincheck in those conditions. It became unplayable and they said basically said "tough luck".

I had a great time playing the river course. We had a slight frost delay and when we started the greens were still frozen under the surface. Made for challenging shots to elevated greens. Also made for some great laughs during the day. I have to admit that I found the water on more than one occasion. I made it to the second hole before I lost my first ball. Don't forget to take time to look at the mountains and wild life around the course. A good risk reward layout. I took too many risk, lost too many balls. This course will play mind games with you, if you lose control of your driver you may be better off using your 3 wood to keep it in play.

The course is a real challenge. There are a few holes that are relatively easy, but overall, it is a challenge. The day I played, it had recently rained so the course was wet. But, it was still in good shape for the season (Dec.). I play here as often as I am in the area. The staff is extremely friendly.

Played December 19th. It was after rain and the course was damp and difficult. The greens were good considering the time of year. Bermuda grass in the fairways was dormat and brown so it's really hard to compare the course in winter. I've played it in the summer and it is much better.

Great course, very challenging. A lot of tight fairways. Quick greens.

a 50 minute drive from Knoxville is worrth it. Both the Highland and the River are really nice courses with fast greens that are in beautiful condition. Just can't say enough great things about this course.

This is an above average public course that requires accurate shots. This is not a course you can get away with spraying shots. The rough is just that, it will eat your lunch if you miss the fairways. The greens roll true and rather fast. Fairways are well defined and pristine. The many bunkers are very well maintained.

A fantastic course that is a real butt kicker. The fairways and greens were perfect and I had no problems getting to the green. But I 3 putted several greens and even 4 putted 2 greens. I am normally an 8 handicap but didn't play to it on this course.
