Behind the 18th green Photo submitted by sschrank66 on 10/01/2012
Pristine views of Mountains, Excellently manicured.
This is a great value for the money. Beautiful landscapes, Well manicured features. 36 holes are challenging but reward for well placed shots. Variety of hole design. Partial along the River and on island while other holes take advantage of the elevation changes. Turkey and Deer live in co-existence in the natural surroundings of the Smokey Mountains
Tough and challenging, fast greens great shape
I really enjoyed this course and look forward to playing the Highland cours next.
Excellent greens & convenient to Pigeon Forge area.
We had a fog delay before I began, but the starter handled it professionallly and quickly. The course was in very good shape and the greens were superb. The only negatives were that it took us about 5 hours because of how crowded it was and the other three guys I played with were pretty slow. There were no course marshalls to help keep play moving at a decent pace. River Islands and Patriot Hills (both about 20-25 minutes away) were just as good, but a better value.
WOW!
Conditions, scenery, layout, toughness, greens, bunkers, water... it has everything. Don't let the fact they say 'River Course' means it's all flat. Nice undulation in the lowlands, but it has a great 4 hole loop that plays up the mountain with views and shots to die for. Great course!
Course is in good shape.
Everything was good, the greens are in good shape but very contoured.
Great Course
I play this course quite often and it's always in great shape. The best part is there is another 18 hole course on site that's equally as nice. If your in the East Tennessee area they are both a must play. Play the Highlands if your looking for a little easier course, but if you want to test your game head for the River. Both get 5 stars in my book.
You can get side tracked by the view around you!
I just played this course on 10/10/12 and we talk about this course being a course that would give the P G A guys a hard time from the tips. I have not scored well on this course But I like this course. The highlands also.
P. S A true golfer will enjoy this course!
Great Vacation Course
We had a great time here. The course was in very good shape. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Layout was very fair but would punish you also. Just a very fun course to play. Will go back for sure!
Very good condition, it will challenge most all golf levels.
Great course, very challenging..... Great deal through GolfNow
Great course
The best course in the area by far, nothing else compares
Long
One of nicest courses in the area. fairways were cut just perfect. Greens were just aerated, but still played nicely. Everyone that we met working there was very courteous.
Great layout
Hard course but very playable. Some greens were harder than others. Forward tees very fair.
Great Course
Was very happy with this course. Difficult but fair course, we had a wide range of ability in our group and all enjoyed themselves. Clubhouse and staff were very helpful and friendly. Staff member told us he prefered the hills course, and although a par 70 played nearly as difficult for most golfers. After playing this course I will definately make it a point to play both next trip.
Visually stunning, superb greens
Played on vacation, $23 w/cart. Gorgeous course, great layout - challenging but fair. Only wish I had played green (6030) instead of white (5471), the standard tee color.
played both courses there-great experience!
challenging golf especially with all the water-my pet peeve is getting to green & finding golfers ahead of you can't bend over and repair ball marks-not courses fault-best thing that happened was we saw a bald eagle!
Great Course
The River course is probably the best course in the Sevierville area. The highlands course is second. The Sevierville Golf Club has done a great job on the courses. But I love the river course more. It's challenging but you can score on it also.
A #1 course
Best course in the area. Best price. Great shape. It will try your game in all areas from Tee to Green.
nice layout with river lined holes, open area holes, and 3 with mountain area
I had played and enjoyed the former 18 hole layout and enjoyed it. Now with the 36 hole layout the River Course has become one of my 3 best courses. Bring your best game because the layout is tough and greens have undulations that make 3 footers tough.
well worth the money! Must play in smoky mtns
Course was in excellent shape. Got started early and had a great round. Challenging course.
Both courses have yet to disappoint me.
The layout of the course is a challenge for the amature as well as the scratch golfer. The fairways and greens are in excellent condition. The rough is also in excellent condition on the other end of the scale as well. This course has become one of my foursomes go to courses to play. I tell all my friends and fellow golfers if you have a chance to play this course do so at your earliest convenience.
The value of play is second to none in the East Tennessee area. We have been on every course within a 60 mile radius of Knoxville. I can say the above without hesitation or reservation.
