Located just southeast of downtown Houston, Glenbrook Golf Course tumbles across dramatically rolling terrain. The course traverses a bayou, which adds scenery but makes it a tough layout to walk since you often have to cross long bridges. There are many risk-reward opportunities where the more accurate you are, the greater the reward. Stands of mature trees line the fairways at Glenbrook and there are also strategically placed bunkers along the greens. Water hazards come into play on several holes. One of the most memorable water holes is the par-5 ninth, which demands a tough 180-yard carry over a wide creek that sits just in front of the green. Even with a good tee shot down the long fairway, you'll still have to lay up to make it onto the green.

Course needs to be closed and rebuilt.
Tee boxes were bad, fairways were dry and over grown, the course really needs attention.
Great layout
I have been to this course before and was very disappointed. The greens were in very bad shape as we're the fairways. But this last time I played the course had been given so much needed improvements. The fraiways were softer and the greens were no being fertilized. You can see the difference. For the price it was well worth it.
Love that you have to hit over a bayou which makes it exciting.
The course has a great layout. Going over a bayou adds excitment and challenging to the game. Having to hit over the bayou on a par 3 and a par 5 makes it challenging as well .

I cant wait to see how it looks in a couple of months- I just played and it looks like they are slowly improving the property -

Course needs some work, but it looks like they are trying to fix
it up a bit. It's challenging with the drives over the bayou to some small landing areas on a couple of the wholes. Small greens also add to the challenge.

I enjoyed the challenge of the course, evaluated tees,nice doglegs . Course needs work, and the staffed seemed crude.
Generally a fun place place to play.
Usually fun to play. They put their maintenance money in the greens which were very fast this time. Only problem is getting behind a slow group that does not have the sense to let faster players through. And there are no Marshals to help with this situation. Also no beverage/food cart. So pretty bare bones but still fun to play. I keep coming back for some challenging holes and good greens despite other shortcomings.

expensive for what you get
I was hopeful that this would be an affordable gem, but found out that the course has not been maintained well and was quite expensive for what you get. there are others in the area that are more affordable and are in better condition.
Green in Great Shape, Fairways Need Attention
Greens are some of the best I've seen on this course. Consistent and fairly fast throughout.
Fairways could do with some attention. Cups need to be cleared of leaves. Great value for money. Much better than I remember it being.
Not impressed at all
I went to this course only because golf now had an early tee time for 26.00. I showed up 30 minutes early to putt around,and the owner comes out yelling asking if I had a tee time.
I go in and I tell the owner that I have my golf now receipt and that I should only pay 26.00 to play. His exact words were" Oh, we are not doing GolfNow tee times right now so you will have to pay 33.00". I was confused, but I said whatever and just paid the guy. I handed him a 50.00 bill and he gave me 13 dollars back! Which would mean he charged me 37.00 instead of the 33.00 he told me.
My buddy then comes in and tells them that he has a GolfNow receipt, I pull it up on my phone for him and they make him pay the 26.00!! I was extremely mad that they would rip people off like that and charge whatever they feel like charging.
Then the guy gave me a key to the carts when the carts do not need a key to drive. Shows you how much the guy who runs that place knows... ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
Fairways were terrible... They were either rock solid, or you were hitting out of mudd.
Greens were in decent shape.
Staff were ignorant and rude. Management is terrible. Something needs to be done.
I will never go back that's for sure!!!
This course has great features, kind or tight greens are not bad fast
I enjoy playing this course,greens always in pretty good shape nice and fast. you have to hit across a bayou about six time and each time is a different shot. This course can get pretty challenging especially is you play from the back tees.

The greens were awesome and fun. None of them were easy. The couse is a challenge becuase of the layout. I have not played it in years and real glad I played it again. It is an old proshop with little stock but the course is fun.
Great Value!
For a municiple course, it has challenging holes, but lots of character. The greens could be in better shape, but this is November, so I can't complain too much. The bunkers, which I visited a few times have good depth and the sand was in good condition. Overall, a very enjoyable round.

Great features some excellent holes to play across Bayous.
The price is moderate but i have played other courses that were in better condition for same or below this courses price the course has good features you have to drive the ball over bayous and they have huge greens on some holes overall i would play this course again.
This course is a cow pasture. Ratty fairways, poor greens, just awful.
They should pay us to play there. The course is in terrible condition, the clubhouse has old junk lying around, and I paid at the snack bar!!
I noticed that as well. I wonder why the snack bar lady takes the payments. There is no marshal or starter. I am sure many people have played for free seeing as how no one is ever there when I go other than the snack bar lady. Club pro may show up a few times a day.

i have to agree it is too expensive for what you get and definitely not for older people. not marked well and generally poor condition.
