Allestree Park Golf Club

This Public Course is due to close in December 2020. Go play it now!

I have played allestree for years. It is a terrific course, hills, trees and picturesque tee locations- but with enough compassion for the 3-times a year golfer like me. It is under threat though. At the moment it only has a life until Xmas 2020 unless we all get down there and show Derbyshire Council that it is viable as a business. It is cheap too. Only £14 a round too. Get down there, keep it open. A great space for the local community too.

This Public Course is due to close at the end of 2020. For a public course it is in excellent condition. Play it while you can!

For a parkland course the fairways and greens are well kept. It’s quite hilly which leads to a lot of uphill and downhill holes and shots. Only negative was the pace of play as it took 4,50hrs and meant a lot of time waiting on the tees. Good value for the price. Too easy of a course for good golfers but would highly recommend for anyone new to golf golf or 12+ handicap.

Played in a 4 ball and loved every minute. It’s a challenging but very nice course with some excellent views dotted around. The lads I played with said most definitely will be revisiting

1st time played here and WOW,, value for money,, Kept really Greens all cut lovely ,, very nice and very long,, up hill big time ,, I will definitely be back , loved it,, only down fall was the bar wasn’t ooen but u can’t have everything lol

What can you say about this amazing place with it’s beautiful golf course and his wonderful grounds it was a joy to be there and play.

Would definitely play again.

Would be a great pity if this course closes at the end of the year, good value for money and reasonable test of golf.

After a relatively gentle front 9, the course becomes horrible. Long, uphill par 4’s and very tiring, feels like it isn’t going to end. Save your best golf for the back 9 because the challenge is unlike the front 9.

Really enjoyed the course and you do get more than you pay for. Did not try the amenities on site so can’t comment on these but the course was challenging enough and well maintained for a public run club.

Course was in excellent condition. This public Course may well be closed down at the end of 2020 so try to play a Round on this scenic parkland Course before the end of the year.

My first time playing this course. Easy to book. The course is set in beautiful Derbyshire countryside and in excellent condition. Only slight problem was waiting to play across where the players wait to play the eighteenth. Took a good ten minutes which stopped everyone behind us also. But it was a busy Saturday. We will Definitely play this course again and again.
