Allestree Park Golf Club

So pleased that this course is still open. It is a fantastic setting with great views. It is a challenging course with uphill and downhill holes, differing lies and greens with plenty of borrow, so different from some of the boring flat courses. I sincerely hope this course stays open as it is such good value and easy to book. As a park course it beats some of the other privately owned ones. Would recommend to any golfer.

the course is in a good condition greens running well . Staff were all very helpful and polite. Only one issue had a family of four riding bike over 3 Rd green

This was my final game before the proposed shut down of the course by Derby County Council unless there is a miraculous change of mind.

Even though the area has other courses this will be a great loss for golf as there are not many Municipal courses available and this is the best I've ever played.

I'm at a loss to understand why the pricing system couldn't have been changed over the years to help the financial costs involved in the running of the course

Really nice morning, the course is fairly challenging as it's up and down, with several of the greens set on levels above the faiway. I;m getting back into golf after a 2 year layoff so the price is perfect and I can get away early giving me the chance to study where i;m going wrong without hindering players behind. I hope it doesn't close as I've heard rumours it might.

Up hill down hill around trees over trees. Fantastic views from top of course. This one has everything except lakes. A good place to play.

Uses the natural features very well. Great use of hills and slopes, some lovely par 3 shots. All in all a great course for the price!

Nicely laid out course in excellent condition with a good variety if holes. Great value for money

I live locally so played a few times and for a Municipal course is kept superbly. Greens are true and fairways immaculate. The downside is that it’s hilly if that’s not your thing and the design of the course may cause a bottleneck at holes 14 and 15 - otherwise Glorious!

First round at this quirky course and really enjoyed the course. Booking in was easy with a friendly hand in the club shop. There are many people walking around the course at it seems to be in a country park. They don’t really cause any issues and keep out of the way.

The course is in good condition and was firm. Greens were on the whole true but were running slow when putting but weren’t too receptive to a ball in from a wedge. Carrying was challenging as most holes are sloped in some way. Trolley is ideal.

A mixed variety of holes, some allowing a fade and some needing a draw, some long and some short. Pace of play was good and even got let through a few times.

All in all, enjoyable, recommended, great value and will be back.

this is the most interesting challenging and well layed out course you can play for your money.

It sits in amongst a very old wooded area and is a mature course. The greens are brilliant at the mijute as well which is normally where these park courses steuggle a bit.
