Great venue just let down by course itself !

A few of us played here on a golf weekend.

Hotel, food, drink, staff, facilities were all great. They even managed to host 2 wedding receptions on the Saturday night,

That's the good stuff.....

The course itself was very short - some 5000 yards (1 par 5) with some interesting holes - all par 3s over water. However, a lot of holes that will not live long in the memory. Particularly on the back 9, which consists of a par 3, then 8 par 4s - a lot 300-340 yards. At least it finishes with something of interest - another short par 4 but with a whacking great tree in the middle of the fairway - tremendous !

We played 2 rounds - the Saturday one it was a big boggy but heavy overnight rain meant that the Sunday round meant a lot of standing water on the course. No-one's fault of course, so just something to note.

So - in summary - I WOULD go back - off course it's a 9/10 but the course lets it down - 5/10.

Cheers.

Damp but playable

The “No Trolleys” sign caused us a bit of adjustment to our playi. Still quite damp underfoot but ok for the most part. Greens are showing some damage and we needed to agree our players interpretation of winter rules.

Most frustrating were the many white leaves dropped off the trees…but it is autumn in England!. We lost a few balls when off the fairways consequently.

Good to get out though and play competitive golf! Well done Ardencote for remaining open during the stormy week. We will continue to support play at the club

Nice course

This is a lovely course suitable for all levels.

Some tricky par 3’s (6th!) and (9th!) so this keeps you on your toes!!

Greens are suffering from a fungal growth in places which makes putting difficult but overall not bad for this time of year.

Disappointed with green's

The fairways were great and overall good, they obviously look after the course, but the greens were horrible patches with patches were ball went all over the place.

Shame about the Greens

Played this course with a small society group about 8 weeks prior to this.

Do not remember the greens being this poor.

Very uneven and bumpy, lots of brown marks on nearly all of them and littered with worm casts. A shame as it is a very nice moderate course for the beginner/intermediate golfer, 2 testing signature par 3s both over water.
