Ardencote Golf

When I booked I was a bit Apprehensive about the length and lay out.

But it turned out to be one of the nicest and pleasant game we had a group have had.

We think you have be quite straight y with your play. But reading the greens was very challenging.

Overall we had a fantastic day.

We were first out after a three ball called us through on the first tee. Went round in 2hrs 15 minutes as a two ball. Front nine has some lovely holes and the 10th, 11th and 18th are the standouts on the back nine. Quirky short course and an ideal course to play when your pressed for time.

Course was quiet, the pair ahead allowed me to play through and from there I had a clear run ahead. Lovely leisurely afternoon in the sun

Firstly - the course should’ve been closed. The conditions were absolutely horrendous, with the majority of the course under and inch of water. I just how’ve acknowledge that the greens were somehow in excellent condition, and very fast.

Secondly - the course is not really a proper course. With a par of 67 and all the holes being incredibly short, it is simply a hotel course, a decent knock about if you were passing though the area.

I have to say, the staff were absolutely excellent. Upon arrival we didn’t have carry bags, which we needed for this course (admittedly they should have told us this prior to arrival), and the staff members in the shop arranged for us to use their personal carry bags, so hats off to them for their kindness.

A course we won’t be coming back to, but decent enough if at the hotel for a wedding or business and want to have a quick game.

Course in excellent condition, tees, greens and bunkers all had some work done. Had a super round.

Great course. So pleased that after many previous years of being available just for residents and members it is now available on a pay and play basis. A lovely course in a fantastic setting.

I found the course to be characterless and nothing to improve my golf in any form it certainly didn’t inspire me at all too flat not at all tricky in any form no challenges at all the grass and the greens I congratulate you on in perfect playing order the fairways need to be narrowed and made more of a challenge more bunkers would be very appropriate as the fairways are dead straight

Played after torrential rain, course was flooded in palces still enjoyed it would go back, great value

Excellent value for money, easy walk with some challenging holes. Great starter course, but still of interest to the better players.

We enjoyed playing on the Course. A shame the clubhouse was closed before and after we had played! A very friendly garden/ grounds an found us two club cards and course layout and directed us as we hadn’t played the course before. If not for him we would have had difficulty finding each hole. The golf club desk should be manned!
