Atherstone Golf Club

Waited every hole on the back 9 being 2 groups behind a 5 ball, who thinks it’s acceptable to play in 5 balls? The last 2 holes clearly visible to everyone in the club house and the 5 ball still played in while we waited on the 17th tee yet again!

Pity because it’s a good little test with some great holes.

First time playing here, great course and really enjoyed it. Very undulating with a few blind holes. Quite physically demanding but worth it for how beautiful the course looked.

What a course this is. From hole layouts to condition of the greens - it is superb.

My only issue is having never played the course, there is a blind shot on 14/15 hole’s without guide markers on all but 2 holes. However, it made for exciting tee shots or the next into the greens.

Absolutely loved it and will be returning soon.

Last tip - get a trolley. Carrying was very tough for my playing partner

Tough first time as blind to green for a lot of holes

Clubhouse confusing and access very restricted

Yet you cannot change your shies in the car park

Very odd

Staff mostly absent and no pro shop

Odd given the cost and apparent club standards

It is fair to say that they are a members club not really geared or welcoming of visitors.

Shame it does bring in revenue.

You can't have more fun for £19... end of discussion

Atherstone is a great members golf course in a little need of TLC generally but for the price we paid and the clubhouse atmosphere it’s really good value.

Excellent course! Very very tough if your an amateur or high handicap but loads of fun to play and testing. Excellent greens and condition and thoroughly enjoyed it, will be back!

Lovely course. Very hilly and unforgiving. Lots of blind tee shots. Overall in good condition.

First time playing this course and with only finding it late last night I’ll be definitely coming back or even better thinking of joining

It’s one of the most picturesque courses played proper gem of a course

Very enjoyable course, not long but still challenging, as requires lots of strategic shots. Only took the driver out twice on the front 9.

Lots of blind shots, which might not suit everyone but we found it a nice change to most courses.

One warning, it's very hilly, so probably don't carry your clubs. If mobility is an issue, hire a buggy. I enjoyed the views and the workout!

Special mention to all the members and staff we encountered, they were all really friendly, made us feel very welcome. Would play again.

Lovely day spent at Atherstone gc. Fairways were in great nic as were the majority of greens considering we’re just into spring. The course is relatively short with some great holes,but it is very hilly with considerable distance between green to tee on some holes( even more if like us you walk in the wrong direction) Also there are a lot of blind shots so playing with someone who knows the course would be a huge help. I literally didn’t have another swing in me after the last. The ice cold beer made it all worth while. Will definitely return,maybe get a buggy next time. On the whole,fantastic value.👍🏻

Great course, very challenging
Well maintained & greens in good condition
Slight moan, hole 3 temp green that was marked up clearly,
Hole 7 (I think) temp green in play however this was very unclear.
Overall a great day out & value for money will definitely play again
