Very Enjoyable Course

Good course, greens run true. Quite a few blind tee shots but not too difficult. Great staff and very friendly members who helped direct us to next tees and letting us play through. Definitely will be coming back in the future.

Well done to the green keeper, course condition is excellent.

Great challenging course

First time I have played in as met my son for a game . I must admit I loved this course as it was picturesque and in great condition for the time of the year . Great choice of different layout of holes . I must admit I had my best round of golf this year that considering there are a lot of blind greens was a great achievement . Will certainly be going back again

Very good!

Great course, some lovely holes and blind shots! One wish would be for it to be more signposted to know where holes play.

Lovely course while tricky

Albeit short this course offers plenty of challenging holes. Many tee shots and approach shots are blind. The conditions of the course was very good especially considering the time of the year. While a lot of rain has passed recently only second part of hole 12 and a few bunkers were under the weather. Greens and tee boxes in good condition.

Atherstone Golf Club

Atherstone is a tricky course with too many blind shots for me, you need to know the course to be able to play it right, it is a test of knowing where to put your ball, the course itself was it perfect condition, the greens lovely, being a Monday it felt like millionaires golf with nobody around, decent choice of beers in the bar when we came off, all in all a good day was had by me & my two playing partners.

Atherstone Open

I played in this year's Atherstone open September 1st the course was in fantastic condition. Greens were receptive and ran true, bunkers were well maintained and the fairways looked stunning with the stripes.

A very challenging course with several blind shots, a trolley is a must but better still on 1st visit get a buggy will be a much more pleasurable experience, best value for money golf in the area.

Great course

Not an easy course but one you will want to come back to master, challenging holes all the way but rewarding all the same

Punishment for wayward shots on most holes but a lovely place to go

Members are a friendly bunch on the whole will tell you the layout and how challenging it is, there’s the odd stalwart that will tell you to take your hat off or golf shoes off, although you do have to enter the bar to get buggy keys etc need to be a bit more understanding if you’ve never been before you don’t know you are entering a bar to collect keys/scorecards rather than a reception or pro shop.

Great course great holes well kept

Good condition - great find

Good condition - and that’s just what you need to be to carry on this course. Very hilly but what an interesting course presented very well with true running greens. Quite a number of blind shots so could benefit from a course planner. Odd arrangement on arrival nobody other than the chef about so nowhere apparent to book in but this didn’t dampen the experience. Try it, it’s a great test that will make you want to come back once you know where to play your shots - get a buggy tho or at least a trolley it killed me for the rest of the weekend after carrying !!!!

Enjoyable course but....

There are a number of holes which are blind.

There was only 1 marker post. If you play it is advisable to play with someone who has played before. It was difficult to know where to aim for from some tees and some fairways

I also found it difficult to locate the next tee in some cases

eg from 8th green to 9th tee and 16th to 17.

other holes were well marked.

Also the 4th and 16th green is a double green and I am still not sure if I played to the correct hole. If playing the course I would enquire before teeing off.

I did enjoy the course and it is somewhere I will play again

Awesome

Been back playing golf for two years now and best course I have played on in that time. Fairways were immaculate, so were the greens. Locals/members who we spoke to on our round were friendly and helpful with knowledge of course. Very challenging course, especially for a first timer but next time I will know how to play the holes, especially the ‘’blind’ ones and there are plenty of them. Great workout too as it is very hilly. Favourite hole has to be the 13th (it favours my slice 😂)
