A delightful walk enhanced

Baildon is a lovely, challenging course. The conditions were perfect. Great scenery all around, enhanced by a very well laid out course. The greens are very fast and it took a few holes to get use to them. The course was quiet and I saw more walkers/dog walkers than golfers.

One labrador rescued my ball from a wayward shot on the 3rd, before I got to it. I'm not sure what the ruling is on that one. :-) The only things holding up play, were a fawn on 12 and grouse on 17. I took my time and was still around in around 3 hours. Accuracy is key and course knowledge will be helpful next time around, for sure.

Baildon

It’s a good course very hilly and accuracy needed due to moorland. Greens are very good and fast.

Overall a good course.

Challenging

If you’re not on the fairway forget it, not very forgiving, frustrating, take plenty of balls, . Enjoyed it.

Trolley not ideal

First time playing the course and I can’t fault it really. Greens in good condition as was the course as a whole. Some great holes with a view as well. I visited after 5pm midweek and there were quite a few dog walkers and people walking through the course so had to wait for them to clear the fairways on a couple of occasions but no major issue. Trolley wasn’t ideal as the paths between holes seemed to be more of a hiking pathway so was pretty uneven.

Will definitely play again.

Bring plenty of balls!

Brutal course if you miss the fairway. Absolutely no chance of finding any wayward shots. This probably says more about my golfing ability than the course!

Friendly staff and members.

Quiet course in excellent condition but stay out of the rough it’s deadly. If you put one in the brush you’re never finding it. Definitely recommend

A great challenge

Played this course a few times and always enjoy it. Can play it pretty much all year round and aside from a few wet patches, holds up really well. Green fee is very reasonable given you’re treated to what’s essentially an inland links course with views from every hole. Take plenty of balls though, a missed fairway usually results in a lost ball!

baildon golf club

baildon is a fabulous golf course well looked after and extremely tricky you must keep the ball in the fairway or its gone so errant tee shots are punished, its one of the best courses in the area and would recommend everyone try it only downside is they could do with a putting green and a net to hit a few shots to warm up before the round

Windy weather
Walked

Demanding but worthwhile

Being new to golf, I wanted to test my (limited) ability on a challenging course and Baildon definitely fits the bill! Notwithstanding the extremely wet weather recently I was impressed with how well the course played. There are patches of muddy areas, but on the whole the greenkeepers have done a superb job. The Greens were in great condition (too fast for me)!

It was a rather blustery day with the isolated hail shower, if that is the norm for here then it makes the course even more challenging and interesting. I liked the good fairway proportions as I am tending to slice my drives. However, if you don't hit the fairway then you're most likely to end up in unplayable heather. Thoroughly enjoyed my first round here and look forward to another, hopefully in slightly less windy conditions.

Without a doubt great value for money.

Challenging

To be fair, the course was too wet underfoot., but what should I expect at this time of year and the rain we have had lately . The paths were muddy. Fairways in places were damaged by Green keepers equipment ( tractor tyre indentations )

I have played this course in the summer, it is challenging not for the faint hearted, imperative you stay on the fairways , the rough is unplayable. Great scenic views and good value.
