Blustery Sunday morning

Had a great round playing solo joining 2 golfers who happened to be from the same home town. The staff were really friendly and the Tom Morris course was nice to play on a cold Sunday morning. Rough was punishing but fairways rolled well so shot a score I'm happy with.

Expansive course

Moorland course which was bone dry when we played. Great views throughout and challenging if you miss the fairway. Great winter track I’m guessing

Great course and I classify it as challenging

There is a lot of rough, so if you don't hit the ball reasonably long and STRAIGHT then you're in trouble.

The fairways are in great condition, the whoel course is really well maintained and the greens are like snooker tables.

Also the location is superb - amaxing views of Ilkely moor and we could see the heart of Leeds.

Highly recommended for plays of all abilities - but take plenty of spare balls just incase you go off the fairway!

Baildon Golf Course

A fabulous moorland course famously a backdrop to some scenes from the iconic movie Rita Sue and Bob too, we had beautiful weather with a bit of a breeze, greens were immaculate and the course in great condition overall, teeing off at 1pm the members Saturday competition was well ahead of us and we saw very few other golfers and got round in 3.5 hrs. Not much in the way of facilities here but a great golf course and always very well priced, recommended.

An absolute gem

Having been a Golf Now user for many years, I have visited many courses in the Yorkshire area. There are some that I've liked and some that I've loved and returned to more than once. Baildon is one of those. Infact, it's an absolute gem of a course. A real bargain and something completely different.

Unlike most courses in the area, Baildon is completely moorland with no trees or water hazards in play. Instead, you'll enjoy great views whilst navigating your way uphill and downdale with generous fairways bordered by heather, links-like rough and ferns. It's a fantastic challenge. Not overly difficult but it does demand accuracy off the tee and distance control. For roughly £1 a hole, you just can't go wrong. Greens are fabulous, and fairways and bunkers well kept. Clubhouse has a fantastic bar and restaurant too.

If you're thinking of giving Baildon a crack, do not hesitate. Totally recommended.

Holiday golf

I was slightly optimistic about the course as I got this at a bargain price of £11.99 for my tee time of 11am.

Arrived at the club to be welcomed by a member of staff who couldn't have been more helpful, explaining the course and route.

The course was In good condition and the greens were very healthy for the time of year. They were a little bit on the slow side but very true. (I suppose when you are on top of the moors it tends to become a little windy) The layout takes you away from the clubhouse and around a loop towards the far end then back home. Around a decent track.

Would I play it again??? Yes without a doubt

Clubhouse was modern and located within an old waterworks building and had a variety of drinks and food was available..

Great value

Only £11.99. Amazing value would pay more. Great course fairways and greens in great condition. Just stay away from the heather. Great views of Yorkshire. Could be very challenging on a windy day. Nice bar and friendly staff. Will be back again 👍⛳️

Fabulous links style course with stunning views!

This course was a pleasure to play. Interesting layout with absolutely stunning views as you progress through your round. If you like links style golf then you will like Baildon. A course in very good condition and very good value with a challenging layout but still enjoyable to play. It is true that if you hit the ball wide it is lost on this course - so take plenty of balls! I also found the layout confusing at times and got a little bit lost! Played the 15th hole instead of the 6th … Also, the walking distance between holes can be significant and the tracks are quite rocky in places - so make sure that your buggy is a sturdy one! Overall though- this was a pleasure to play, really good value when you consider that it is a course designed by a 4 times British Open Champion and golf legend Old Tom Morris!

It is also very open to the elements and can be very windy.

A delightful walk enhanced

Baildon is a lovely, challenging course. The conditions were perfect. Great scenery all around, enhanced by a very well laid out course. The greens are very fast and it took a few holes to get use to them. The course was quiet and I saw more walkers/dog walkers than golfers.

One labrador rescued my ball from a wayward shot on the 3rd, before I got to it. I'm not sure what the ruling is on that one. :-) The only things holding up play, were a fawn on 12 and grouse on 17. I took my time and was still around in around 3 hours. Accuracy is key and course knowledge will be helpful next time around, for sure.

If you’re not on the fairway forget it, not very forgiving, frustrating, take plenty of balls, . Enjoyed it.
