Keep in the fairways

Really enjoyed playing this coarse for the first time , word of warning though take plenty of balls , almost impossible to find any stray tea shots due to the course rough off the fairways

Superb inland links

If you're looking for something different, give Baildon a go. High up on the more, open to the elements, no trees but plenty of heather, this historic inland links is a little gem. Well considered layout requires some strategy off the tee and provides some great views of the surrounding countryside.

Played in April the day after heavy rain and course was in good condition. A couple of soggy fairways but the greens were sound for the time of year. Quite hilly but not overly long to compensate.

Friendly, welcoming staff and locals with a great clubhouse bar. Definitely one to revisit and recommend.

Great setting

Lovely course and resembles a inland links course. Miss the fairwat any the heather is tough, so very tough.

Well kept for time of year, though club house is in a strange position.

Bracing but enjoyable

Played on a blustery day in Nov when many other local courses were closed following heavy rain, however Baildon remained open. The course was in great condition, greens were firm and true, following the rain there were wet areas on some fairways but they were the exception rather than the rule. There were 3 holes with flags missing which made for tricky approaches but as it was a social round it wasn't too much of a problem. I look forward to returning in summer when conditions are a little more favourable.

Baildon is a great challenge

Played here twice . Luckily the weather was good both times and the course was in excellent condition. Would definitely be a different game in poor weather but definitely worth a visit . Great value for money and a great challenge even with a low course index . I will be returning

Superb unusual heathland course

Played Baildon before lockdown a couple of times and was looking forward to playing again.

Very different course to my usual parkland courses in Essex. Windy afternoon where I played with 3 very nice local golfers on a hot deal.

New clubhouse very well appointed, nice selection of beers and very welcoming.

Wind brutal (which is part of the attraction). Rough punitive so try to keep ball in play as you’ll be lucky to find any the stray. Tee boxes were a bit lumpy and unloved but playable. Greens in very good condition and surprisingly fast.

In all a very enjoyable and challenging afternoon with 3 very pleasant Yorkshiremen on an unusual layout. I scored 28 points which was much better than I’d hoped for after my front 9. Don’t understand why the course is such a low slope index though.
