Stole a bargain with Golf Pass. My colleague tried to get the same £30 deal from phoning the pro shop, only to be told it was £90 a round for the exact same tee time.

Also, although i played it two years ago, finding the next tee on some holes proved problematic due to a lack of signage, but we eventuality found them. This was the only observation from what was otherwise a highlight of my month.

Disappointing Standard

For a PGA standard course I felt the course was in a poor state. Despite the recent rain the fairways were not that well maintained with divots everywhere and the semi rough grass was too long and leaves everywhere. Made finding golf balls very difficult. Greens not too bad but excessive pitch marks not repaired. Didn’t see any groundsman out on the course the whole day. A disappointing course which we were really looking forward to playing. Would not play this course again.

PGA National

Pace of play was really slow. 5 hours for 18 holes. Course was setup really difficult so a great links test!

not the best kept course

I played the PGA many times when i was younger. I treated my dad to a round there for old times sake and we were all disappointed with the course conditions. The weather was windy so it made it harder to play, but that's fine, the issue was the fairways and the tee boxes. The fairways were lightbrown, grass missing everywhere, very unprofessional and bad maintenance. with the days being hot, surely sprinklers etc should have been in use but didn't seem that way, i've seen better tee boxes at my loal pitch and putt course. This wasn't good value for money, paid £60 pp and it was a bad experience. The 18th has been made shorter, with an ugly gap between the green and the drinking area. Did not look picturesque at all. Overall, the experience was disappointing, it brought back memories which is what i can take away from it. I played fairly well, even thought the wind was like a hurricane, but other than that, quite disappointed. Belfry, you need to put the same maintenane effort into all your courses not just the Brabazon. I probably won't be coming back here any time soon, not for the PGA anyway.
