Great day
Course and greens were excellent, staff friendly giving advice on the course and amenities, all in all we had a great day, real value for money.
Value for money?
I really like this course and it can be very well maintained.
The only gripe is that when the summer is in especially on weekends the pace of play is always poor. I was pushed back nearly 25 minutes from my tee time and I had around at 10-15 minute wait per tee box with multiple groups queing behind.
This course is best value for money when they drop the deals on later tee times in the week, but if you’re prepared to wait on the weekends you start to question what value you get for it.
The derby
Greens were amazing course was great all round only issue we had was the pace of play was terrible the marshaller tried his best to get it moving but we was stood around on most holes for at least 10 mins average
Fantastic Day And Course
Staff were so friendly and helpful it made everything easy. Course was great but hard for the level I am at bit I will be back and recommend to anyone who is wanting a great value golf course.
Belfry Bad Weather
We were playing the Darby course however the heaven opened up on hole four. We tried to play on however we got to hole six and the green was under water so headed back to the golf shop. They gave us a card to claim a bad weather voucher to book another time. Staff were very helpful to say all courses closed
First time playing at the belfry
First time playing the course. Easily directed to the shop where staff were helpful. Let us play off early as there was a gap. Driver to the course was great. Spoke about the 3 courses and had great knowledge. The derby for the “cheaper course” was brilliant. Definitely worth a swing. Looking forward to going back and playing the other courses this summer. Pace was a little slow but only due to us being a 2 ball and a group of 32 in front of us.
Great staff and set up but way too crowded
Staff were great, facilities are excellent however the pace of play was shockingly bad. The course was backed up and so had to come off the course as had plans later in the day, would likely have been a 6.5hr round which shows that there were too many tee bookings in my view. Would struggle to recommend playing this course on that basis but may be better during the week.
Social Friday
As our course was closed due to a charity day we decided to book the Derby course at the Belfry, £27 which isn’t to bad, after the first 3 holes the course got better, you can tell that the other 2 course take priority,
Good afternoon of golf,
It wasn’t till we went from a drink after the game I realised how expensive it is at the Golf, Also service charges put on the bill without being asked 3 pints of Stella cost me £22.44wow ,
My son booked this as Xmas gift for me.What can I say but absolutely blown away by the place.Played the Derby course and as high handicappers suited us brilliantly. For how much rain we’ve had lately the course was really good .Staff so helpful.Got to get handicap down now for the PGA course
waterlogged
i really like the Derby course and have played it 10-15 times but the course condition at the moment is dreadful. its completely waterlogged to the point balls landing in the fairways are plugged to the point you can't find them. the pond on 17 was soo over full its spread 15m into the fairway and the bunkers around the greens are completely full of water .
99% of courses would be closed in the current condition.
Waterlogged
Any other course with that much water on it would be shut….. I really like the Derby course but it’s unplayable at the moment. Balls hitting the centre of the fairway and disappearing as there’s soo much water . Bunkers full to the brim with water .
Interesting and enjoyable
Short but interesting, it had rained so some mud but all greens in use and they were surprisingly quick
