Frozen but still great fun
Today we played Th Derby course at The Belfry. Great fun had by all especially the infamous sausage rolls at the halfway house.
Course was is great condition for end of November. Sadly the greens were slightly frozen due to a hard frost but that didn’t dampen the fun we had on our round. Looking forward to playing there again in the not to too distant future.
Boggy
Very boggy in most laces, tees and greens way to close.
A great experience
The course was a bit wet due to the storm but we were lucky to have a dry day and the whole experience was wonderful and once again the Belfry delivered to our expectations.
Congested and tight
Would not recommend this course. It was very congested, too many people on the course. Up to three groups waiting on some tees. The course is too tight and with so many people in it, it is bordering on dangerous. In 10 mins we were nearly hit 4 times.
The belfry is packed in general i would avoid it, there are plenty of great courses in the UK
Great Layout
Great course first time I've played it was nice to get a lift to the first tee, and the driver to tell us about the course etc. Pace of play was slow so this was the only down side, but really good course, great layout and was designed well, will be coming back with our society.
Once again
4 balls slowing the day
Going sideways and backwards in buggies slowing down the pace
Wouldn’t let us threw
2 ball taking 5 hours is not a good day
Great time
New to golf and was worried when my friend suggested to play here however really great day the whole set up is class and very friendly - derby course was great for a beginner deffo going to play it again
The rough diamond at The Belfry
I’ve played all three courses & The Derby is my favourite. It’s lovely. A good test of golf but not brutally difficult. Sunday afternoon was fantastic, not fast pace by any means but we got round in 4 hours & was exactly what we expected. Beautiful greens & well kept fairways. Don’t expect the Brabazon especially when the British Masters is coming up. The green keepers will be spending all their time & efforts on the main course but it’s in no way shabby. We paid £35 for our round which was good value. The Brabazon is the crown jewel but the Derby is the rough diamond.
Above average
The belfry on the whole is brilliant but we found the derby course itself slightly above average but being the cheapest of the 3 courses it’s what you expect. On the whole nothing to complain about.
Another great visit
Excellent service as always warm welcome from staff from booking in to transport to first tee and collection when completing round. Booked as a two ball paired with a third party no issue with this fully explained in booking terms and conditions. Pace of play steady at first but quickly caught up with a couple of four balls ahead one group kindly let us play through however group in front not so accommodating. Course in pretty good condition no complaints will happily return again in due course
Lovely course shame about the pitch marks
Lovely course, gorgeous weather, fair challenge always loved playing here. The issue I found which knocks it from 5 to three stars is the conduction of the greens pitch marks everywhere! It was shocking I lost count of how many times I had to repair marks either on my line or close to it on one green I saw my ball pitch and stop dead it had landed in a massive un repaired pitch mark. Shocking really but for the price can’t complain.

Great day , staff where excellent. Slow play spolied day slightly
Round while visiting
From renting clubs to lift to fist tee staff where excellent. Playing as a one ball on Derby course, I was prompted to play as a four ball, which I refused and again was accommodated so I could play on my own with my non playing wife for company.
Only other thing too mention was speed of other players and unwillingness to let small groups play through.
