Belfry Golf Club - The Derby Course

Decent course, very good condition. A suitable alternative to its bigger brothers for less able golfers!

It was my first time playing the derby course and the layout was great and the company of my friends was great the weather was great aswell but the most important thing was how rapidly fast the greens was i would recommend it to my friends at my golf club to play it

The course staff were all extremely friendly and welcoming. This was the first time playing at the Belfry and I will definitely be back. Being driven to the Derby course is a great little touch too.

Great course & very enjoyable! Greens very fast for this time of year & £20pp is an absolute bargain

Slow play, that the time keepers were unable to resolve. Course nice but not overly special .. Drinks etc. ridiculously priced in club house .. £11.50 for two take out coffees

Course could of done with a notice about conditions, fairways was water logged, between tee and green was marsh land.

Greens really good for this time of year, limited area of excessive wetness

Only negative was the half house toilet were closed so the ladies had to hold bladder for 9 holes

We played as a 2 ball and had a 3 ball in front of us. We had a single golfer appear behind us so had to let him play through. We were then met with another shortly after, did the same again and luckily they paired together. We were then all held up due to this along with the 4 ball 2 groups in front of us refusing to let anyone through because they were playing on a competition. I felt it was very petty and not good sportsmanship, at the time of booking there was no mention of a competition so this was the first we heard about it. All in all, it was a very stop start game of golf taking well over 4 hours and affected our stride of play.

You can’t really beat the belfry for golf. It’s a good all round experience although the only pace of play was slightly slow but not the end of the world. Greens were amazing for the middle of winter

Satisfied golfer The fairways were a little sticky but that was to be expected considering the weather patterns of light greens were superb quick and true had a great day I’ll still be coming back maybe the PGA or bread next time

Painfully slow getting around it today . Green full of in repaired pitch marks .

I like the course and is normally great value for money but it left me very frustrated. Greens were sandy and slow as well this week

The Derby is the third in the Belfry trio of courses but is still a great course to play with excerlent greens.

Thought we would play a different course . Everything was good we got taken to first tee of the Derby course . Good information by the driver that took us . Personally I think the fairways need a bit of work . It was quite damp so heavy underfoot. The greens were perfect and difficult to read . All in all a very enjoyable day . Very expensive in the 19th avoid if you can . The course well worth the £20 green fees .
