Belfry Golf Club - The Derby Course

The course is in great condition but my the tee boxes aren’t flat , ball abouche it below your feet on most tee boxes .

Play was really slow with a five ball group causing all the issues and the course Marshall doing nothing to speed things up ….

The course was in great condition, it’s well looked after from tee to green. Mid-week game so pace of play was perfect. Beer is expensive after though. Will be playing the Derby again, although maybe give the bar a miss after.

Enjoyed it very good price , but unfortunately 5 hr round and that was with a four ball walking off after 9 , if you don’t mind that great value for money superb facilities, top staff big shout out to Julian & Clive , who both were very helpful.

While being driven out to the 1st tee we were told “ it’s meant to be the easier of the 3 courses , but today in this wind it ain’t gonna be easy “ he was right . Wind swirling made it a great test . Loved it . I’ll be back soon for sure

The Derby course may not be the top course at the belfry but it’s well worth the money. We thoroughly enjoyed our round from start to finish. It’s a tricky but fun course with stunning scenery. We were in a group of 11 & everyone enjoyed playing & all said we would come back & play it again. Booking was easy online & everything ran smoothly on the day. Even the weather. I would 100% recommend the course to anyone looking for a good test of golf at a reasonable price.

The quality of the greens and general condition of the course was good, can remember when this was £20 to play though and can now be twice that price. Wondering if it’s worth it but always seems busy so fair play.

So we arrived very early just so we could have a look around, The Brabazon was being sorted ready for the British Masters, but we were in awe at the place. Looked around the shop, checked in, had to get a course map book as a momento. We were driven from the shop to the first tee, given an idea of the layout as well as advice from the driver who's name I forgot but he was brilliant. So the course itself was by far the best condition I've ever played and I have played some good courses in excellent condition, me and my mate took photos and took the place in, it's the first time we had both been to a course that's standards were so high.

There were only a couple of issues that we both had, but these are things the resort themselves cannot help. Me and my friend didn't hear a single shout of "fore" and we were very close to getting hit a few times however we were shouting every time we had a wayward shot (which there is a fair few). On a couple of greens I spent a few minutes on them and the majority of that was repairing pitch marks, on one green in particular (16th hole) I found myself repairing around 8 none of which were ours. But I would still gladly go again, it was amazing! Either championship or Brabazon next time.

Course is in great condition. Superb greens. Well worth playing.

Teed off at 15:30, the course was empty which made the round extremely enjoyable.

The Derby is a forgiving course which, if you've been beaten up by the Brabazon, is a great course to play. It's not long but you need to put the ball in the right place to make a score. The greens were in good condition and ran true..

The staff were very cheerful and very helpful..

An enjoyable round and great value.

Course was in poor condition,greens were shocking. A place like the Belfry should have a course fit and in good condition for the amount of money you take for playing not good enough in my view.
