Birstall
We have played this course a few times and always found it a well presented layout. We found the tees fairways and greens in excellent condition. With the current Covid situation they have installed a ball retrieval system which is absolutely brilliant which not only ensures zero contact with the pin or cup but is very useful on wet days when the cup fills with water when you get your hand wet fetching your ball out of the hole! Sadly we weren’t able to use the clubhouse under current lockdown but hopefully in the future we’ll be back to use all of the great facilities at birstall.
Birstall
Recent heavy rain made it heavy going as is on Leicester clay. Greens and bunkers in very good condition. All folk come across, shop, bar and other players very friendly. Good practice area with good bunker and associated green. Overall good facilities but no buggies.
Worth every penny
Have recently been playing courses still trying to recover from a long hot summer 2018, that have been further damaged with the winter play. This course most definitely does not come into this category. Tee boxes, fairways and greens are in super condition and make Birstall a great course to play with a decent amount of challenges on each hole.
Appalling condition, walked off after 9
Very poor condition. Definitely not a winter course. Okay in the summer. Was like playing in a field. Walked off after 9 holes - very slow 9 holes, all memeber complaining also, some were walking off after 9-12 holes also. Avoid it until the summmer people...
