Stunning
It was a pleasure to play this course today. What a wonderful piece of property! Bravo
Great
Course has dried out more. Fairways were great and nice to be off normal tees. Great golf at a great price. Bargain at £20.
Great value for money
Booked through golf now for £20 which was a bargain. Some great elevated tees with great views. Been a member at shaw hill for years so it was nice to be able to open the shoulders and let rip with the driver on a lot of the holes. Will come back again in the summer .
Hidden Gem
Played this course as a last minute choice.
Fantastic experience.
Bit wet still in places but some fantastic holes.
10 and 13 are two incredible par 5s.
Hilly and testing.
Friendly welcome from staff and members with a great atmosphere in the bar.
Will definitely be back.
Better direction
The course has had a fair amount of work done to it over this winter and with that the first few holes had a lot of buggy tracks but didn’t really take away much from the round and more drainage will help in the future. The course offers some interesting holes but could really do with better signage to get you to the next hole, myself and my friend were half way up the 8th before we realised we’d missed a few holes out. If you are going to play in wetter months it was very wet in places but the greens were all on proper greens when we were there although there were temp greens set up. All the staff were very friendly and helpful the club house is lovely and it is well worth a visit.
Winter golf, ready for the summer
Great course. Greens still great even though it's winter. The lads in the club house where great after our round!
Great condition
Played the course on the 2nd of February and it was in great condition for the time of year.will definitely play again.
Super little course
Staff were friendly and very helpful. Course is a lovely little gem - plenty of interest even though a majority of holes are on the short side.
Lots of ups and downs which could reflect on your score card if you don’t adapt from your standard distance.
Overall - if you play well you’ll score well and enjoy the 19th after around 3 hours of entertainment
Awful!
Having moved back to the local area after living in Spain for 3 years I’ve played most local courses round here including wilpshire, pleasington and oak royal. Blackburn by far the worst not looked after at all and will not be returning. It’s a shame because I’ve played this course before and it was very good.
Bit hilly
Mixture of hilly and undulating fairways but slopes are up and down as opposed to side slopes. Good views. Well maintained course. Able to walk for those without fitness problems.
Blackburn
Good round, course in great condition for the recent weather, looking forward to booking another round!
Saturday afternoon slog
Teeing off at the end of a late summer Saturday in a fairly blustery conditions all well on the first hole. On the second a chap appeared out of the trees before ditch, as we were walking down the hole (having driven off and landed over said ditch). He concluded his hole and then let us through. All was then well until the 5th where we caught up with a three ball- an older bloke and two young kids. The speed of play was abysmal thereafter, and they didn’t let us through. We thought of cutting holes but there were a number of groups further ahead.
The course was looking pretty- as you’d expect in august. Greens a little slow.
Excellent course
Always been a class course even better these days
