Disappointing
We played this course as a four ball at what I would class as standard value for an 18 hole course £20. However we did not get an 18 hole experience, 2 of the holes were closed which I couldn't understand as they were the highest point of the course. One of the holes were put onto a winter green (which wasn't a green it was a huge hole stuck in the middle of the fairway and in terrible condition. The winter matts were in play which I understand but these were built on metal stands which meant the whole thing bounced everytime you moved.
The staff were all great and friendly and the food afterwards was excellent. The course has so much potential due to its location I just feel it needs more attention and visitors should be made aware of any issues way in advance of booking.
Not impressed with the layout
Many holes very similar, just up and down. Relatively short easy course. Weather was bad which lead to poor course conditions. These should be better in summer. Staff very helpful. Would not okay again due to poor layout of holes.
A disappointing round
This was the 1st time we'd played at Mytton Fold. The welcome was excellent with very friendly staff. We booked a buggy and were provided with a towel to dry the seats. No complaints there at all. We played the 1st hole, a short par 3. The green was in a terrible state, resembling something from the Somme with all the pitch mark damage to it. However this wasn't typical as all the other greens were in good condition. We were informed that holes 12 and 13 were closed, which we couldn't understand because they were at the highest point of the course. Hole 8 had a temporary green stuck in the middle of the fairway which we weren't informed of. Also during the round all the tees were changed to winter tees, again we weren't informed of this. This shortened the course considerably. The weather hsd been relatively dry in the few days running up to the round, so to say we were somewhat disappointed with condition of the course is an understatement. Probably wouldn't recommend for winter golf, but would give it a go again in the summer when the course us at it's best.
Mytton fold g c
First time playing this course ,thought it was very boggy on all fairways clearly draining was a problem, all greens look good but were lacking any kind of pace and were quite fluffy, personally wouldn’t play this course again
As good as ever
Lovely day, great course and very friendly helpful staff as always
Great course but make sure you stretch before playing!
Loved this course, great variety of holes and you need to plan for many of them particularly if you are a high handicapper like me. Be careful when playing the 8th, it's easily mistaken for the 10th which I did and had to retrace my steps to complete the 8th and 9th. Be advised as well that this is a physically demanding course that requires a decent level of fitness to play if you're walking all the way round and haven't got a powered trolley! The setting of the course and the scenery are fantastic and worth a visit for on their own. Having said that it is a really well maintained, intersting and challenging course which I will definitely play again and would highly recommend.
Spectacular views
quite course, in pretty good condition. A few hills to improve your fitness levels....
16
Could only play 16 holes as the top 2 holes were waterlogged, still was a lovely day and the friendly staff gave us the option of playing 2 more holes, but course relatively busy so didn’t get chance
Great day
Being held up by motorway closure we were in danger of missing our tee time so we rang shop up to explain and they couldn't have been nicer giving us a later tee.
Course was in good condition even after some torrential rain in the past week. Greens were spongy which was understandable, tee boxes were poor with very uneven levels apart from this it was a very pleasant day and well worth the traffic jam
Thanks to the staff again
Course rating
Apart from the weather overall a very nice course will look into playing the course again
Good course but buggy issues
Me and a friend booked to play at mytton fold, the course is in great condition. The only issue we had was that we tried to book a buggy and where fully booked, the group behind where playing a five ball with 5 separate buggys, I understand restrictions of covid 19 possibly but still wasn't impressed
Fabulous Views
The Ribble Valley is spectacular . This course shows off the best of it! Great golf experience
