Bit hilly

Mixture of hilly and undulating fairways but slopes are up and down as opposed to side slopes. Good views. Well maintained course. Able to walk for those without fitness problems.

Saturday afternoon slog

Teeing off at the end of a late summer Saturday in a fairly blustery conditions all well on the first hole. On the second a chap appeared out of the trees before ditch, as we were walking down the hole (having driven off and landed over said ditch). He concluded his hole and then let us through. All was then well until the 5th where we caught up with a three ball- an older bloke and two young kids. The speed of play was abysmal thereafter, and they didn’t let us through. We thought of cutting holes but there were a number of groups further ahead.

The course was looking pretty- as you’d expect in august. Greens a little slow.

Definitely play it again in the near future, challenging but fair if you miss the fairways and the greens where in great condition.

Gods mix of interesting holes

I played the course with friends following a week of rain. The course was very wet in places and the greens were uneven, slow and hadn’t been cut. The layout was a bit confusing in places too but the course was a great mix of long & short holes with elevated tees and greens - some of the views were fantastic too. This has the potential to be a gem of a course and maybe we played it too early in the season but the greens did let the course down. The clubhouse is very nice & all staff were friendly and welcoming

Summer evening golf

Having not played Blackburn for a couple of years, it was pleasant surprise to pop along for a quick round on a June evening. Teeing off at 6:30, round in 130 minutes- only saw one other group and they let me through quickly. Course is the best I’ve seen it- marvellous firm but still quite green. Greens ran nicely. A bargain for the twilight rate. Recommended.
