Solid wood of Bluebells and bird calls all made the course that much more special. Photo submitted by Ltjones2004 on 04/24/2024
Great course
Played the Manor Course after a biblical amount of rain so it was wet, but any course would have been . Even though it was wet we all appreciated what a wonderful course this is . In the middle of the new forest with deer roaming and so peaceful out there, beautiful greens and fairways and an ever changing course, no 2 holes are the same . We can’t wait to return on a dry day next year.
Lovely Course
My first time playing the manor course, we got a deal at £51 each but they paired us up with another 2 ball which we didn’t really want as we wanted a quick game and had a buggy. We managed to scoot on ahead and were done within 3.5 hours. The fairways and greens were great considering the recent rain, I read up on the course beforehand and it said it was tight and tricky but if you are a 18 handicap or less, it’s really not that hard, but some holes are interesting, I’d definitely recommend playing here, but I wouldn’t want to spend more than £51 to do so out of season, maybe in summer it’s worth £75 per round. That being said, definitely a 4/5 course.
One thing to note, make sure u pick up the correct card in the pro shop as there are 2 courses. I only saw 1 pile of cards and picked up the wrong scorecard.
Thanks.
Fantastic VFM
managed to get the Manor for £20 pp - incredible value for money
Great layout and given recent rain the course and greens were both pretty good
Fairish pace of play given we were a 2 ball
Only downer was the quality of food and drink in the clubhouse which I must say has changed and definitely not for the better
Coffee almost unprintable and bacon sandwich on soggy white bread - ugh
Fantastic value
To play Bradshaw for £20 pp is an absolute steal
Even tho we have had lots of rain the course and greens were excellent
Great day out
Nice course. Slightly overpriced.
A nice course with a variety of holes and good layout. Played behind a competition but pace of play was still good. A halfway hut would make this 5/5*. Staff were mostly polite (chef let them all down by being passive aggressive). All in all a good course but probably wouldn’t pay £70+ for a weekend round.
Exactly what I thought
Excellent Friendly staff totally recommend playing this course again and again Will. Definitely spread the word too all my friends and colleagues you have to play At Bramshaw golf club .
A gem in the rough
The Manor course is an absolute gem hidden in the rough of the forest. If you are golfing in either the Bournemouth or Southampton area it is very easily accessible and is a must visit! A very well maintained course with some great challenges.
Manor Course
This is probably one of the best courses I have played..... and I have played some good ones.
The course was immaculate, the greens fast but true. The rough was long enough to be a problem but short enough so you could find your ball quickly. Pace of play was just right for our 3 ball.
The only downside was tee times were delayed by 30 minutes when we arrived but we were kept informed and collected from the practice area when ready.
All in all, a steal for the money and as Arnie says.... I'll be back
Good day out
Excellent course, great layout and superb condition. Excellent days golf!!
Dragged through the mire
I have played the Manor course on many occasions and it used to be a very well conditioned course. But each time I have visited it since, it has progressively deteriorated and today was the worst it has ever played. From the naked eye, the course looks in good condition but when you start playing, it becomes clear that there is a serious lack of attention to detail here.
The tee boxes are poorly manicured and divots on the tee boxes are either not replaced or adequately filled in. Yellow tee markers were poorly maintained. The fairways were not bad would benefit from another cut. Same story with the greens, they looked very pleasing from a distance but were very slow to putt on. On numerous occasions, the bunkers had a number of stones in, all mixed size.
The staff were very friendly and I really like the layout of this course but it feels like everything is being done to cut corners and save money which leaves a bad end product. Although I only paid £35, it is certainly not worth £35, let alone the full £95 summer green fee price. There are much better manicured courses in the area who charge significantly less for 18 holes.
I was left very disappointed and I will not be returning to play the Manor Course for a long time. I hope the management team read this review and make significant changes to the course.
