Poorly maintained
I know the weather has been bad, but bunkers need raking, digging out, sand added.. almost dangerous to try to play out of.
Fantastic views and Autumn colours.
Great hotel, pool staff.
Amazing
I have played some great courses but this is right up there, fairways qnd greens are immaculate. For £45 this is the best value course ive played by quite some way. It could be 3x that price for the quality
Great course
Stunning course very well kept and very challenging
Defiantly recommend a buggy though as tiring course to walk round
Amazing course
It’s a very challenging course and the greens were in great condition. Great value for money. We stayed in the hotel at the course which I would highly recommend.
Tough course
Beautiful setting, and a superbly maintained course. This is a tough course, both high and low handicaps in our party struggled a bit. It is vert hilly if you’re walking. As a first time players on this course we found the on course signage to be particularly poor, and trying to read the hole layout of the card was tricky, should have bought a course guide. Greens quick and true. Endless wait for cars to pass on a couple of holes was frustrating.
Well worth a visit.
Couldn’t have had a better day, the course was in amazing condition, the friendliness of pro shop and the club house means we will be playing there again. The course is hard enough for the better golfer and also forgiving enough for the higher handicapper.
Not great
Only 14 holes open when 18 was advertised an some temporary greens that was very poor
Great place and great course
Played the priory course and absolutely loved it. Had a great day made even more better when my brother had an hole on one on the 17th. Will definitely be coming back
Great course
Great golf course, staff is super friendly and accommodating. Great condition overall
Overall good venue
Good course, well maintained but greens could do with more watering for some hold.
Won’t be returning soon
4 holes unplayable due to waterlogged ground. Three temp greens and multiple temp tees. Was offered to play the same 14 holes angain but ans the ground was so heavy going we declined annd just played holes 1-4 angain. And all that for £45 each.
Appalling value for money
Winter golf
We played The Priory course on 5th March.
We were aware that players on The Moorland course were being asked to use fairway mats as mandatory, but this wasn't the case on The Priory. However, roughly 7 or 8 holes on The Priory course did have temporary winter tees (mats / raised platforms) and this wasn't communicated to us either when booking or when checking in.
The mats were of varying quality and, overall, weren't the best. They also shortened a number of holes quite significantly.
We felt the greens were in very good condition for the time of year, with the exception of 17, which was patchy and in poor repair.
Staff around the course and club were friendly, but beware of the cost of drinks in the bar!
