Great value for money
Course and green was in great nick, only £15 for 18. Staff were brilliant. I’d highly recommend
Worth a try
Good layout.
Fair, with some challenging holes.
Beginner or high HCP friendly.
There are however parts of the course that need too be better maintained, especially some of the green and the areas around them.
Turned up at the wrong course!
Staying near Leeds I looked on-line for the nearest course and booked Calverley using Golf Now. Unfortunately I arrived at a course about a mile away from Calverley and was surprised when they said they hadn't received my booking. It soon became apparent that I was at the wrong course and I was pointed in the right direction!
At Calverley I was welcomed and given a map to show where the holes were. In reality, I followed two other golfers and kept them in sight as I played my round. I don't have a handicap and average 96 at my own course. Scored 95 at Calverley which I was pleased with - better putting would have taken my score to nearer 90!
Several conversations with other players, all very friendly. Completed my round in just over three hours and enjoyed a quick drink in the club house.

Great variety of hole styles and Pars.
Clean, and welcoming clubhouse. Friendly staff, with a great drinks selection at the bar.

Good course for the money
£10 for a Sunday tee time is a bargain at any course. The course has improved a lot since the last time I played here a couple of years ago. A good mix of holes to suit all abilities. My only gripe was the greens could be in better condition. Lots of sand and dead patches, although the recent weather will not have helped.
Expected better for location
Tee boxes not in the best condition, especially 16. Greens also not in the best of conditions with what looked like diverts, and tyre marks over them.
It’s been a few years since I have played this course and took my novice daughter for her fist proper game was concerned that we would hold up play but she did better than expected and it was a 3 ball in front playing from 1 bag that seamed to slow everyone down which is why I marked down pace of play other wise would have been higher, then just a few holes where the fairways could have been better maintained too many weeds popping through other than that the greens were in great condition. Overall a nice challenging course and will go back…..
