Buffalo Creek Golf Club
About
Highly touted Buffalo Creek has been praised for its layout, condition, and overall attention to detail. No matter who you talk to in the DFW area, they all seem to praise the superb condition of the course from tee to green. Offering a 7,078-yard par 71 Jay Morrish/Tom Weiskopf design, Buffalo Creek offers a good combination of holes: straight holes, dogleggers, uphill and downhill shots, and both long and short holes.
One of the best features is the club’s method of using a pin location sheet to mark exactly where each pin is located on a particular day (up to six locations), which is unbelievably helpful to hacks who’ve never played the course before and have no feel for the look and contour of the greens.
Getting there : Take I-30 east from Dallas and exit Ridge Rd. Turn right and find the course 1.6 miles down on the left.

Terrible Conditions
This course layout is great, provides a challenge but is fair if you hit good shots. The course conditions and management are not so good. Starting off, there was no starter at #1 with tee times running behind and leaving a free for all at the first tee. As has been the case for some time the bunkers are hard pan dirt, appear to have not been raked in a year and are in serious disrepair. The newest issue on this visit was the greens, it was like putting on across a pasture... hit it and hope one of the several bumps your ball hit on the way to the hole knocked it online. I saw 2 golf carts having to be towed in after breaking down on the course and the wood on the old clubhouse/snack bar area is rotting and looks awful. Some serious attention needs to be paid to this once great course!
REFUND PLEA$E
Arrived 45miin early for 12:45 tee, no carts available until 10min before tee time, No organization from pro shop to 1st tee... starter was lost, allowing "comped" players to go which made 5 some in front of us, waiting on most holes. Tee boxes not mowed for many days, grass was taller than rough on most tee boxes. Course fee of $25 would have been more appropriate, Golfnow please send me a refund! If you're in DFW area, don't waste your time driving out to this course
Happy St. Patrick's day !!!
This course was a very friendly and well kept up ! Would highly recommend it to people . The easy part of golfing was booking it online !!!
Course conditions needs work
This course has a great layout which is fair and challenging. The course is in decent shape except for the bunkers, they are terrible and have been for the last few years. With the amount of consistent traffic this course receives there is no reason the bunkers cannot be upgraded and they have a beverage cart on a busy weekend.
Bunkers need help
This course has great potential in its layout and you can use most clubs in your bag, however the bunkers are never manicured. Also, there has been a problem with the carts as our cart ran out of juice as did many others. The one I was able to substitute for after getting pushed by another cart for the front 9 had an extremely annoying squeal.
Fun Course, Ends there.
Played the Friday after Thanksgiving, when a lot of people have the day off. The pro shop had one guy workiing in it, both checking people in and answering the phone to take reservations. Needless to say, the check-in process took 15+ minutes. No beverage cart, on a Friday after a holiday. Bunkers were a thin layer of top soil. Our golf cart's battery started running out on hole 16 and we eventually had the other twosome push us to the club house. Once there, several people asked for our working cart because the course had run out of them. I also noticed at least two other carts being towed in because they died. The club house can't make a burger or fries, nothing more than cold sandwiches. The urinal in the men's room was broken. The pace of play was 4.5+ hours.
It's a shame because I enjoy the course layout.
Rockwall
Great course and great people along the way but you’re having a lot of issues with the golf carts dying all the time , thank you
Average Course
Haven't played here in almost 20 years. Purchased "Hot Deal" for $36. I would not pay a penny more to play golf here. The pace of play was terribly slow. No Marshall's monitoring pace of play and no beverage cart on the course the day we played.
Course management issues always
Well it’s time to speak up after consistency in poor experience at this course. They throw people off on both the front and the back with no consideration to the scheduled t time or number of people on the course. They allow the pace of play to deteriorate to an unbearable level. We left after we saw the course ambassador hawking golf balls in the woods while 3 groups were inline on one T Box. What made it so awful was this followed a slow play, to only make the turn and see a group that just arrived T’ing up on the to box behind the group we had been following all day. I don’t understand this level of disrespect from course staff to the payers that are IN PLAY. I play frequently and will welcome the opportunity to share my experience with anyone I can. Something needs to change with how golf courses are managed to bring back at least a minimum amount of Etiquette and respect to the people and the game.
Very nice course
Nice layout. Greens are in very good shape. A challenging course. I recommend it. Fees sometimes too high.
Buffalo Creek
Played this weekend with 2 out of town friends. Friendly staff, got a cheap rate. Course was in decent condition. Back 9 much better than front. Fairways mowed down with tight lies, but with solid turf. Greens on front nine were slow, bumpy bermuda and were marginal. Back 9 they were rolled and much better.
Trying to find a great golf course
The photo does not represent the course. The course was not in good condition. The course is only worth $20 to play .
Nice layout, not maintained well
Excellent layout but the greens are a bit rough and the bunkers look like parched desert mud.
