Nice conditions and a friendly welcome
Good knock that we both enjoyed, thought a few holes closed due to poor conditions. Would have benefited from knowing this in advance before booking. Can't fault the golf course, with the greens that were l very good and no real boginess experienced anywhere.
Lady in the pro shop was very helpful and friendly as was a member we spoke to..
Would return without hesitancy
Solid course well worth playing
Overall this was a decent golf course, the greens were in really good condition given the recent wet weather, several very quirky holes that offered choice on how to play them and a couple of very picturesque par 3s.
The main downside was having to tee off from the temp/ winter tee box which shortened several holes by a decent margin and whilst it wouldn't have changed our decision to play it would have been good to be aware of before booking.
The overall course map was a little disjointed and sometimes it didnt feel like a natural flow to the round but this is a minor criticism.
Didnt get to use the facilities beyond collecting a scorecard from the pro shop but the staff were friendly as were the few members we met on course
Considering the rain we have had the course was in excellent condition. I liked that mats were only in use on certain holes which was clearly marked. All greens in great condition. Will definitely be playing again soon.
Quality course
First time playing this course as a 19 HC. Played this the day after heavy rain all day and the course was in great shape. All green keepers were out working hard. Green had recently had work done on them for drainage, would definitely recommend and play again
Excellent
Played here a few times but this time was a real treat. The greens are the best I’ve played on this year and the fairways and bunkers are immaculate. Highly recommend this course
Fourball
On arriving at the course we had paid online through golf now and was told we couldn’t play unless we paid £35 which was the full green fee price.we refused to pay the full amount as we had already paid online for the round so he said he would let us play if we payed another £10pp.I have booked through the system for a few years and have never had to pay extra at the course and we had travelled 30 miles to play so we decided to pay. When I emailed GolfNow said they shouldn’t have taken any money off us as we had already paid and to email the golf club secretary which I did the following day and still waiting for a reply that was a week ago .so unfortunately won’t be returning as the golf course course was ok.would have probably spent more than £10pp in clubhouse but decided to give that a miss and think a club of that stature should treat guests with a bit more respect.
Brilliant course
First time playing this course would definitely play again and recommend to anyone
Thoroughly enjoyable
Had a friendly welcome from the chap in the shop who informed me that 4 holes were currently closed and the layout of the course had changed. He helpfully wrote the correct way to get round the course onto my scorecard. I was also told that I was welcome to play 4 extra holes which was easy to do without having to make any big detours.
The course itself was in good condition for the time of year with all fairways playable although I was asked to use a mat on certain ones or play from the edge, not too much of a problem for me as I am normally on the edge anyway. The greens still had plenty of grass on them and played slow but true.the course was fairly quiet and I was round in under 3 hours.
Exceeded Expectations
I really wasn't expecting much from this course but given the winter conditions I was very pleasantly surprised with the condition of the course. The greens although slow were in good condition considering how wet it has been recently. Seriously considering membership here.
