Saddleworth Golf Club

Managed to get a 3PM Saturday tee time on short notice after being let down for a booking an elsewhere. Greeted by a very friendly women in the pro shop who gave us some local course information and guidance. Short game practice area, practice netts and putting green available to use before heading out.

Very interesting lay out utilising the hills and slopes, provides some excellent view off some of the tees. Few blind tee shots using marking poles however would suggest checking google maps or something if you don’t have a Garmin with hole layout as you can be a bit more aggressive if you can hit a longer see ball.

Plenty of scoring opportunities for longer hitters with some gettable par 4’s, but well layed out to provide some risk as well. Greens were in excellent condition and well worth the green fee alone, but the course overall is very well maintained especially quality of bunkers and around the greens.

Didn’t have time to stay after the round so can’t comment on clubhouse however before heading out it looked very busy inside with a lot of members.

Overall excellent value for money and if I was ever in the area needing a game this would definitely be a place I’d return.

Not the first time I have played Saddleworth but always good to come back .A great start with the lady in the pro shop who was very professional and explained everything 👌.Afew members hole hopping in front of us but the sun was shining so there was no rush and gave us time to take in the views . Great to see the bar open with a friendly barman serving a great selection of beers .keep up the good work 👍

Challenging, hilly, great design and layout, open to the elements and some stunning scenery. Both my playing partner and my first time here but absolutely won’t be our last.

First time playing after a very wet winter. Overall in good condition and fairly well laid out. Will definitely return to see what this course is like in summer.

Two Little nets for a quick warm up and a putting green. Great interesting course layout and design. Friendly pro who lent me a winter mat and even shouted me a coffee at the end of the round.

Great views of the countryside and a fun course.

Pace of play was slow, it was a Monday and picking up and putting down mats may have made this worse.

Great course, lots of shorter Par 4s but when they are up the side of a mountain they play much longer. Had a really great day, tricky greens and steep slopes make it super challenging but the views around will keep you smiling even when your game lets you down.

Probably one for the summer and even then the wind was blowing. If we lived much closer we'd be here all the time, it's a course you really want to properly get to know.

One of the best golf courses I've played this year, great quality, greens and fairways immaculate considering the weather.

Fantastic layout with some great holes that make you think about your shots. Definitely one to return to.

Stunning scenery as well

Took advantage of a hot deal for £20, joined up with 3 other golfers who I did not know but were excellent company for 18. Course played really well, challenging in places and good opportunities to get par’s.

Would definitely recommend.

Magnificent course, the best views on any course I've played in the North of England and a true test of golf.

There are no bad holes on this course and every hole is different.

One or two blind tee shots and its a quite undulating course.

No for those who want an easy walk or beginners.

Friendly staff and a warm welcome in the bar .

We played this on a sunny April afternoon. The course was in excellent condition. The greens were running true and every hole was a great test of golf. All golfers would enjoy this course but perhaps higher handicappers ( over 15) may struggle as accuracy off the tee is important .

Excellent value for money and all my playing partners felt the same .

Pro extremely friendly and helpful even helping to best way to play.

Was just after Trilby event so course was immaculate.

Wind picked up had an awful round but that wasn’t the course was me.

Will definitely play again now I understand the course.
