Excellence greens and friendly staff - the beer is not bad either.
The course is in impeccable condition year round, and in spring/summer it is a joy to play. The staff are alway friendly and happy to help. The pro is excellent and his lessons are invaluable.

Please cut the rough!
Lovely course but very difficult for high handicapper. Unless you land on fairways, you can spend way too much time looking for balls lost in vast areas of long cut semi rough, creating unnecessary slow play. Fortunately it was quiet when we played, would be a nightmare on busy Saturday.
Very interesting course design
A smart way to fit 18 homes in a small oark
Challenging narrow fairway, and greens.
Respect it or get beaten
Lovely afternoon
Course in good condition and had just had a trim. Got lost a couple of times hunting for the alternative tee. It's 9 holes and 15 tees. Keep to fairways as I lost a couple of balls straying a couple of yards offline. In all an enjoyable afternoon. Will do it again.
Small, but fun 18 hole course
Despite Dachet being a short course with each hole sporting two tees each, it’s an extremely nice course to play. Whilst the fairways are plenty wide for driving, the fairway bunkers are well placed and produce a good challenge. The greens are easy enough to land on for approach shots, but the undulating terrain can definitely test your putting. A good course all around!
Good challenge
Played course several times in the summer and autumn when fairways were hard and greens a bit bare and bumpy, However, today, course in better nick than expected, especially the greens which were true and fast and better than I can remember.
Difficult course with no easy holes and so good challenge.
Great greens.
It’s January and it’s been raining and Datchet is next to the Thames so I was imagining a sticky wet round. Turned up at allotted time with only a few others on the course. Tees were quite ropey, fairways were quite tired, but the greens were exceptional. Who ever is the green keeper here, thank you for your tireless work on making the finest greens I have played on in the area this winter. No temporaries either. Will be returning soon.
Apologies
This is a reply to the previous two reviews. Unfortunately at the moment we only have myself as a greenkeeper. As you can imagine this is extremely hard work to keep on top of. After a few months of searching, we have a course manager starting in a couple of days time and we aim to get the course as good as we can with immediate affect. Im sorry that the leaves affected your round and hope to have you back soon!

Autumn travails
I do like datchet but my god when it’s autumn and wet , the leaves are a huge problem if they are not being managed or cleared at anytime. Made conditions and playing time difficult. Everyone was saying the same which was disappointing
Avoid in Autumn
Compact course that would be enjoyable aside from all the leaves and debris on the fairways which resulted in loss of 3 balls, on the fairways, which is ridiculous. Tee boxes were in terrible state. Greens varied from excellent to average. Be good if visitors reminded to repair their pitch marks
Woeful condition, terrible layout
A big shame that the course was in such awful condition: Greens with large, completely bare patches; Fairways to match; 1cm of compacted sand in the bunkers; appalling tee boxes.
Although the layout was terrible (for example one tee box was over 200 yards back up the fairway from the previous green) it would have been an interesting and varied, easy-walking course. Staff very friendly and warm-up net and putting green near to first tee.
Pace of play was perfect as I had the course to myself, and all the above tells you why.
p.s. 1st/10th is a drivable par 4 where you aren't allowed to use driver due to complaints from neighbours having golf balls in their back gardens. I rest my case.
Good challenge
Only has 9 holes but some variety in the back 9 to make it interesting. Some tough par 4's and par 3's no pushover and so plays tougher than its SR. Greens a bit patchy, likewise fairways but good value for money and friendly course to play on your own.
Good challenge
Course in pretty good nick and they had obviously done some work on the greens which had previously suffered during the dry spell. Fairways and tee boxes still a little bare but acceptable. Course has 9 holes but most have different tee positions on the back 9 and so feels different although clearly not as varied as a usual 18 hiole course. Course index is lower than others nearby but it is more difficult than that with some long par 4's and difficult par 3's.
Not good
Poor maintenance.
Paid for 18 holes and walked off after 9 and played somewhere else.
Will not be returning ever again.
I would not go back again.
Lovely staff and overall ok.
Comments noted! Unfortunately with just 2 Greenkeepers looking after the course and some grass that absolutely loves growing it isnt easy at the moment but i can confirm we are trying our best to keep on top of it! Hope you enjoyed it other than that!
