My first 9 hole
Played after 2pm was beautifully quiet well thought out 9 hole with some longer 2nd 9 tees well worth a game some decent long holes price spot on for what you get we are going to play a couple more times
Good
Long for a 9 hole played 18 very nice course very straight ,greens are the only downside will play here again
Terrible condition
Greens were patchy and bobbly and inconsistent.
Tee boxes were like an unkept back garden.
First cut was 6 inches long in places.
Fairways need cutting
Nice little course, good sand in bunkers but fairways in dreadful condition as uncut. Lost 2 balls on the fairways!
Greens also not great this time. Easily rectified if club address it
Could do with more buggies
As I have a disabling condition which requires me to sit down every now and again I don’t think I can play this course again without having a buggy. It is a fine course and is in tip top condition but unfortunately because of the lack of buggies it may be the last chance I have to play here.
Good social course
It is only 9 holes, but was still good to play. Everything worked out fine, would go back. As for specifics, really you should play the course as it could be different from when we played. We had no issues with the course, note off the 1/10 tee as a visitor you can only use irons.
Lovely course
We played at Datchet for the first time today because it was a hot deal at £15 each. That turned out to be a bargain as the course was in great condition with nice fast greens. Really enjoyed our round and would happily pay a lot more to play there.
A lovely Friendly course
Being an inexperienced golfer who doesn't drive, im always looking for courses close to stations or transport facilities. Datchet is 5 mins walk from the station, and is tucked away on a side road.
Its a beautiful 9 hole course, but with 15 different tees so you are only playing 3 holes twice for your 18. Some of the alternate tees make for interesting challenges! It was no problem for me to play on my own, which i want to do so not to emabarass myself being put with someone i dont know until im better. It was quiet when i arrived at 8am and as i was early it was no problem for me to tee off early. Good changing facilities as well. One thing threw me though was that you have to take an iron off the tee on the 1st and 10th holes as any wayward drives could cause quite a lot of damage to property. (its a short par 4 though so not a big deal)
The bunkers were under repair but after chatting with a few members and the club secretary after my round over a coffee, he told me that they had been damaged and were being resanded over the next few weeks.
Really liked Datchet, its great value for money, The 9th/18th is a fantastic blind par 3 and looking forward to coming back.
Good 9 hole course
Good little course was in good shape apart from bunkers being GUR will be back!
Datchet
Nice enough course but as it's a 9 hole when you go on to play the 10th onwards it can get confusing with people who are playing only the front 9. Greens are tricky which is a good challenge.
