Herons' Reach Golf Resort

Me and a pal booked here on a whim. We were meant to play on the 27th feb but on the day we tried multiple times to call the pro shop to check for any restrictions with no joy. So we traveled the hour journey to be told we couldn’t play as it was carry only! we didn’t have carry bags.

They rescheduled our round for the 6th which was great under the circumstances. But then we played! we got stuck behind 4 members who held up 4 groups one being a 3 ball a sole ( who we let play through on the 3rd) then two 2 balls us being one. The course was really bad in parts the green are poor quality to say it’s a championship course!

I won’t be wasting my time or money going back.

On previous visits heron’s has proved a useful, inexpensive winter option, as so many courses are on winter greens, mats etc.

On this occasion however, nowhere on GolfNow did it say that four of the 18 holes were closed. We paid for something we didn’t receive. Buyers beware!

Course soggy but not a surprise given the time of year. Tees very forward, so very short course but lots of plugging balls in difficult winter sun meant more than a few lost balls.

Play this course often, shame to find out on the 1st that hole 11,12,13 and 16 were off due to weather.

Was extremely wet out on the course.

Others players were rude and very slow didn’t get to finish before dark

The course was excellent and in great condition, even though the rain was hampering down all night and day there was no flooding and greens were fast and fantastic condition. For winter golf it was great, I imagine it’s even better in the summer. When we arrived the guy in the shop was really friendly and helpful, made us feel really welcome and it was a great impression for the club, hotel and course just meeting this guy. Well done mate, golf clubs need more staff like yourself nationwide !

Very well set out with lots of challenges.

Greens are super fast which is amazing to see for this time of year.

Good challenging and varying holes, from short par 4’s but long par 5’s this course brings a variety of challenges and obstacles to ensure you execute your shots with thought and vision

Great condition. Beautifully manicured: Stress free. No issues at all.

Played on Thursday 22nd April, booked through Golf Now for 1.17pm. .....guys in the shop really pleasant and accommodating. ....pace of play was good even though we as a 3 ball had a four ball in front, but other than the obvious hold ups, nothing bad. The course is in great nick and and great test when the wind blows...(which is and ways! !!) The greens and ways re fantastic, tight cut, fast with subtle breaks, frustrating as he'll but a joy to chip to and putt on, all in all and great day was had by andll. ...will be back.
