Golf with a Snorkel
The course shouldn't have been open, in 23 years of playing golf I've never seen anything like it. Couldn't get to 8th Tee and called it a day. Attitude of staff very poor.
6 holes in 2 hours
Very very slow. Title suggests, 6 holes in 2 hours. No one out marshalling it. Left on the 7th tee due to a queue of 3 groups.
Like pulling teeth
4 hours to play 13 holes ended up walking off, No one checking people teeing off we teed off at our time men’s to have 15 minutes till next group soon as we took our 2nd shot players teeing off, after 8 holes we were counting 4 groups on a hole 2 on the tee one on the green and one the fairway, four balls ahead of us who were clearly a lower standard not letting anyone through a waste of 30 quid won’t be going there again
Really great course some difficult holes on there
great game of golf played with my cousin been twice this week
Disappointed
Arrived to find they'd lost our booking
Staff not particularly friendly
Wet boggy course in mid august
Fairways sodden and greens severely pitch-marked
I played here twice over two days. The first day was sunny with no wind; the second was overcast with occasional light showers.
But it was the condition of the course that was poor. I only saw one ground staff on each day, and perhaps that's the reason. No only were the fairways sodden and the greens severely pitch-marked, there were empty beer bottles and cans all littering several tee areas, and many bunkers were overgrown and clearly unmaintained.
Why don't golf clubs retain litter bins? What (covid-19) risk is there - players simply throw away their litter and grounds staff removed the litter bags with gloved hands? Rant over.
Normally better
played herons reach loads of times & unfortunately the greens, where not in great condition.I know this course gets hammered with visitors, but normally the greens are very good & normally very fast?.,so i don't know whats happened there. Also like playing @ herons reach, with a good course layout & plenty of water hazards. Will come back because normally the greens are good.
Nice course still improving after covid lockdown
Super layout with a whole range of hole shapes hazards and challenges. Lots of different teeing grounds and flag positions make you think especially on shorter holes. Work still to be done on greens which were bobbly and a bit long. A round took 4hrs for our 4 ball but we were behind a society.
Herons Reach
Staff were all very helpful.
Golf course nice layout.
Greens slow and woolly, fairways again very fluffy.
Overbooked
Played this course today for the second time. The staff were fine although when I arrived I was told I had to play in a 3 because of the allocation.
The tees were too congested and the pace of play was poor, you could here other golfers venting frustration on the tee boxes because the pace was so slow. I was playing behind a group of 4 and they didn’t let me pass. The greens were soft and really slow/boggy (recent rain). I had a better round last winter than today.
Course condition
I have played this course hundreds of times being a local, but the £18 I payed today was a waste of money the course should not of been open it was like playing a swamp. If ide of known it was that bad I would not of played.
