Lovely course

Although the staff contacted us beforehand to say the course was undergoing extensive greens maintenance and that the greens would be sandy, the course was in excellent condition.

The greens were as staff said sandy but that didn't cause us any issues. And would definitely play Dinsdale again.

The staff were friendly and very courteous.

Excellent customer care due to contacting us beforehand to let us know the course condition.

Plays long

Dinsdale is in great condition. Greens are amazingly green for the time of year but still quick in places. Always plays long to my mind tho, with the right wind direction, a couple of greens are drivable.

Dangerous course

We played this course in an open competition. There was no information on the layout, no starter and no idea of where we were going. The ladies tee markers were in the wrong places only a yard or so in front of the men's tees making conditions extremely unfair. The difference between men's and ladies yardage on the card was 500 yds yet if it was 50 yds that's generous. There were crossing holes with no signs or warning especially one on the front 9 where teeing off on a par three downhill you can't see the next tee to the left which is going right over you as you come down the hill. Another hole people had to leave their green to enable us to tee off! No signage so we got lost looking for the 15 th tee where you have a choice of two unnumbered holes to go off. When you finish there was no one to give the card to it was very badly organised. Would not play again.

Love this course

I've played here quite a few times, course conditions from dry to very wet and I reckon I may become a member in the near future.

A challenge for me, some water hazards, tree hazards and trenches across the fairways to test your course management.

Staff have always been helpful, and the greenskeepers have been happy to have a chat when I've met them on course.

This is one of the few parkland courses that have still been open when the rest in the area have been closed because of the incessant rain this past year, though it can still suffer when the heavens open. Hope they can get some more drainage sorted out this year, losing balls in the middle of the fairways when the ground is so soft the balls disappear is frustrating.

I like the nature of the course, easy to follow, you can drift off to adjacent fairways and still get back on track eventually (even drifted two over and still made par on the 9th one visit) though the out of bounds hedges are so dense you'll never get it back if you go that way.

Unfortunately, not at the level expected.

My recent visit to Dinsdale Golf Course was overall disappointing due to poorly maintained, overgrown fairways and a confusing layout, which many other reviews also criticized. Although the greens were well-kept and enjoyable, and the driving range and pro shop, featuring high-tech equipment like TrackMan, were impressive, these positives were overshadowed by the underwhelming clubhouse service and the general disarray of the course. The deficiencies in maintenance and design significantly detracted from the experience, making it unlikely that I will return unless improvements are made.

Course rules

When booking I was not informed of the course regulations relating to trolleys, if I had of know I would have brought my lighter bag to carry, I had to unfortunately carry my cart bag around the 18 holes which could have been eradicated if I had more course information upon booking

Confused and boggy

The course should not really be open,I dread to think the consequences when the course finally dries out the damage coursed by everybody walking the fairways in the awful boggy conditions

No signs to let you know where your next hole is,ok for locals but visitors will be scratching their heads!!!.

Staff in pro shop and clubhouse were quite pleasant. All in all not a good day 🤪👎

Poor course, false advertisement

Understand giving the weather that course conditions wouldn’t be the best but to have the course detailed as fully open but to turn up and have a couple of holes still on winter greens. Fairways weren’t cut so couldn’t tell if you were just playing in the rough all day. Poor course Which is a shame given it was a really good course a few years ago

Best Greens in the north?

What a fantastic golf course! challenging and varied layout, and condition was the best we experienced on our trip. Greens superior to both Rockliffe and Close House.

Fantastic Food ( nice to have after the awful bacon rolls at rockliffe) and Friendly Members. A driving range was nearing completion, and there was a putting green and chipping area.

Picturesque views from upstairs bar.

Frustrating day at Dinsdale

Course and especially the off course facilities are very good. However, our visit was extremely frustrating due to poor condition of the greens (recently hollow tined and heavily sanded) but especially frustrating due to the abysmal pace of play - we were on the 1st 10 minutes ahead of our allotted time but had to wait circa 30 minutes for the backlog of late parties to tee off - we were subsequently stood waiting on every hole along with 2 other groups who were equally unhappy - on the last hole 3 groups were stood waiting to tee off! In summary our round took just under 5 hours to complete which is unacceptable and resulted in us not having time to visit the bar for food & drinks after the round. Unfortunately this sort of thing will deter our group and probably others from booking the course again which is a shame. Why the 11th hole is currently out of play was a mystery to everyone (it has now been under refurbishment for well over a year).

Nice conditions but dangerous layout

Course is in great condition but a dangerous layout, 4 or 5 tee boxes are way too close to previous greens or even playing your driver over the top of them, not what I expected from this level of golf course, won’t be playing it again

Fantastic course

Played this course as a one off as was in the area for a wedding and what a course it is, fantastic well kept greens and fairways, tee boxes are nice and tidy and the overall feel of the course is brilliant. Extremely friendly staff who were happy to help when we got a little lost. I would say finding the next tee isn’t always as simple as other courses but if you keep an eye out for the signs before the greens it certainly helps. I think a fair price to be able to play such a beautiful course but couldn’t help feel £25 for a buggy was a little steep but we needed the speed that day to make the wedding in time lol

Overall loved it and would certainly return if we are ever in the area again.
