Sunny winters day.

Played here for the first time, upon arriving the car park was almost full so had hesitation about playing. Walked into the pro shop to find an extremely helpful lady who not only gave us some useful tips of the courses , but also informed us the course was clear in front and behind us. The course is in very good condition for this time of year with the greens running very true. Great value for money and will definitely play here again.

Great course

Great established course with some nice holes.

Greens are a litttle bobbly at the moment but will be in great condition when summer comes.

Could be considered a little hilly for some but nothing too taxing

Nice course

Great course, layout is ok but could do with walking green to tee rather than walking past holes. Overall really good course very testing

Rude members- why so angry? maybe the course?

Very disappointing golf course and club. Layout so -so and condition very average. Sadly the least enjoyable on our trip. pace of play very slow, and also rude & horrible members. Made to feel most unwelcome on the course and clubhouse.

Give it a miss.

Too late in the year

When we checked in the lady in the pro shop looked slightly embarrassed and said the green keeper had had to squeegee the greens that morning, and the course would probably be heavy from now on. It had rained through the previous night but the course had obviously already been wet. The fairways were quite soggy, with no run on the ball and we had to play preferred lies as the ball was picking up mud with every shot. This made the course play very long. The greens were fine. If visitor bookings are going to be taken this late in the year there should be some reduction in green fees. On the plus side it was a pretty golf course, well laid out and probably great to play earlier in the summer.

Challenging !

Played in perfect weather, great course condition however found the course challenging due to the speed of the greens and no green was on a level. One 20ft up hill putt left 2ft short and started rolling back !

Main issue for me was the course layout which required a lot of walking between green and tees. and seems more complicated than it needs to be it is also up hill and down dale, not a problem but be aware particularly for older players.

Finally you have to be playing well to get the most out of this course.

Great course

Every hole a challenge. Course in fabulous condition, fairways, greens and tees. Greens have some difficult pins (today) and not easy to two putt from distance.

Overall excellent.

Good course but a bit tight in places

Enjoyed the course, which was in fine condition....pace of play dire and at least 3 times "driven into" by singleton players behind....whilst waiting to play our own second shots.

Several tee shots involve crossing other fairways, which undoubtedly does not help pace of play and it was hot, so perhaps some ahead were feeling the "pace". All in all, though, an enjoyable afternoon.

Very friendly club

Very friendly club (staff and members), course in good condition, reasonably priced. Course has a couple of challenging holes (one disaster hole-SI1 for me that messed up my card) but mainly straight forward and on the short side. Regarding layout, there is an unusual four green confluence that isn't wholly satisfactory with danger walking to the next tees, there is also cross over of two holes close to their respective tees. A couple of the bunkers I found needed sanding

Wet

Very nice course with some challenging holes...the fairways very wet in places tho, same for the some greens.. only 1 winter hole tho, it was tee and green on a par 3 around 80yards.. layout was cramped which caused some slow play 2 greens only a foot apart our 4 ball and another 4ball landed at the same time causing confusion with balls.. we let the lads play through as we needed to play over there green to get to ours.. this caused a back up on the tee box behind us.. would still play again well worth a look

Eaglescliffe

Booked for a two ball but had a player joined us on the first tee This is normal so the pro said. Course was very wet and surprised it wasn’t closed. Slow play was unbelievable 4.5 hours is the longest ever on a course for myself in 25 years of golf.. It won’t be played at this time of year again not when you lose a ball on the fairway due to falling leaves.

A Real Gem

Played the course for the first time. Arrived late due to puncture but the pro reorganised for a later tee when we phoned

Excellent set up. Course in first class condition. Many sloping greens so very challenging. The two signature holes are superb, the 14th being a par 5 on the banks of the Tees. If you manage to hit the fairway you then face a long second with a fairway bunker cutting into half the fairway.

The 17th is a relatively short par 3 over water to a 2 tier green.

Overall its an excellent challenge, beautifully maintained and even if you play poor golf the views are great.

1st class golf course

Brilliant course in top class condition. Every part of the course is in immaculate condition. Greens are fast and very true and staff were very friendly. What I really liked was the pace of play. Only took 3 hours and never had to wait to play a shot even though it was a busy day. Got a great deal and will definitely be returning
