The Course was good considering the amount of rain that we have recently had.. the only negative is the distance between the clubhouse /Carpark to the first tee and the distance back after the 18th tee..... there is a good walk across the racecourse and over a dual carriageway (Level Crossing).
The staff were friendly and so were the other golfers on the course.
Pace of play extremely slow
Stuck behind a three ball and a four ball.
Three ball let us through ok but four ball didn’t. Gap between four ball and those in front was at least 3 holes.
Golf away day
Found it different crossing the main road to reach the course, weather was good, course condition was good greens had just been hollow tined and treated therefore some strange putting results. The round started satisfactory course was interesting and some interesting holes throughout, considering the greens treatment they held a ball very well, after four holes we had caught up with the two ball in front they were in turn being eld up b a four ball part of a society in front and etiquette wasn't their strong point. good course and facilities will return to play again hopefully not behind a society.
Donny Town Moor
A good value course . A good challenge for all levels of golfers.
Great greens
Played Town Moor on a Nowgolf booking at £16 each 2pm tee off which for a bank holiday Monday was a great result , shame we never performed that good but thats our fault , course was in good nick to say all the rain we just had , bunkers were poor obv No rakes so no fluffy sand ! Some tee boxes not very good but fairways n greens very good
Will defo book again
Book elsewhere
This course is dying for a reason. There was dog poo on nearly every hole, and the greens and bunkers were lakes bearing in mind or had barely rained, the overall course condition was unacceptable and is should be shut until it can actually drain water rather than just holding it.
Bad morning out
Other people on the course very aggressive..
I know we’ve had a very wet winter but the course looked very neglected.
Never play this golf course again if it was free...
Interesting layout, poor members
Firstly, I must say that this is a mixed review.
For a course in January to be in this good condition and on full greens is impressive and a testament to the drainage of the course. Green complexes ran well and were interesting to put on, bunkers well sanded and a decent variety for many of the holes with only 4-5 "cookie cutter" straight out par 4's to sully the experience.
All in all I would recommend this course to anyone looking for a new course to play.
However, pace of play was atrocious, with a group of 3 holding up a long string of players behind and not having the decency to let them through even when confronted on the tee box several times by the group behind. Just select a club and hit it! Not go back to your bags several times, pull out a different club and then decide that that decision is wrong once over the ball!
Other than probable bad lick, the experience here was good, with a friendly Pro in the shop who gave directions to the first tee.
Would play again.
Picked a bad day
Great course and always welcoming,
Course is in great condition, we just unfortunately picked a bad day where 2 societys had booked the course.
We played back nine first in 1hr 20 only to walk off after 3 holes on the front 9 because it took us over an hour to play 3 holes.
